Jennifer Lopez is one of Hollywood’s most famous women. Not only is she known for her seemingly ageless beauty, the star is also popular for her immensely wide range of talents. She can sing, she can act, she can dance, she can do anything! Adding to her list of things she does amazingly is parenting. The mom of Emme Maribel and Maximilian David (twins born to her and Marc Anthony in 2008 who turn 12 this weekend) shows us that not only does she love motherhood, but she is an amazing mother!
J. Lo gave birth to her twins Emme and Max when she was 38 years old, and she is grateful that she was able to start a family at that age. When the twins turned 9 years old, she shared this touching message:
“”I’m forever grateful that … you know, I didn’t have kids until later and so I almost thought that it wasn’t going to happen for me, so I’m very aware that I was blessed with that. It could have been something different.”

A few years after Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony welcomed their twins Emme and Max, they announced to the world that they were getting divorced, which resulted in JLo getting full custody of the children. Since then, JLo has been in a relationship with former baseball player Alex Rodriguez. The two have recently been engaged, and he has two children from a past relationship, as well. Their families blend perfectly together, and their children get along with each other, allowing them to join together as one happy family.
The now 50 year old star has never sacrificed any part of her responsibilities as a mother for her career. She even credits her children’s birth for allowing her to continue to grow and develop as an artist, stating during an acceptance speech:
“I knew I had to be better. I knew I had to go higher, I knew I had to be stronger than I had been before. It was through that unconditional love that my career, that my whole life, became clearer in every way.”
Despite her divorce with Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez still prioritizes a good co-parenting relationship with him. Though it isn’t easy, it’s worth it, she says, and describes their relationship as:
“We’re still friends–and we’re parents. But it’s going to take time. It’s tough. But for the most part, I feel very proud of the way we’re handling it. We are doing the best we can for the kids.
Motherhood in the spotlight can’t be easy, but JLo proves that it’s just another thing she’s amazing at.
