Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan met on the set of their popular dance movie, Step Up. The couple married in 2009 and broke up nine years later in 2018.
Since their separation, the two have remained friendly and equally devoted to raising their young daughter. So, it comes as no surprise that Channing isn’t sulking over his ex-wife’s engagement news.
Just the opposite actually!
A source revealed to E! News that the Magic Mike star is thrilled for the couple.
“Channing is very happy for Jenna and Steve’s engagement,” the source shared. “Channing has expressed that he is happy Jenna is in a good place and has moved on.”
The source went on to say Jenna will always have a special place in Channing’s heart because she’s the mother of his child.
“But they have both moved on and are happy in their new relationships. Channing’s main priority and concern is his daughter, and him and Jenna are both happy to have worked out a co-parenting agreement.”
Dewan and Tatum finalized their divorce last November. And she started dating her fiance, Steve Kazee, in October 2018.
Steve confirmed the relationship in December, via Instagram, with a touching birthday message to the dancer.
The couple announced they were expecting a baby in September 2019, and in February of this year, they became engaged. Dewan took to social media to share the news.
“A lifetime to love and grow with you…you have my heart,” she captioned her Instagram photo showing off her oval-shaped engagement ring.
This will be the first marriage for Steve, who’s a Tony Award-Winning actor.
Jenna isn’t the only one who’s moved on.
Channing has been in a relationship with singer, Jessie J, since September 2018. The pair were spotted together for months before they confirmed their relationship in April 2019.
Soon after the relationship was confirmed, rumors spread the two were planning on getting married. During an interview with Heart Breakfast, Jessie put those rumors to bed.
“Just because he’s Channing Tatum everyone’s kind of sped us up into this, like, ‘Are you getting married? Are you doing this?” she said. “I mean, I’ve been in relationships for a lot longer than Chan and I have in the last four, five years, but they’re not famous so no one really cares… We’re having a lovely time.”
Channing and Jessie took a break in 2019 after a year of dating, but have since reconciled. And their relationship looks to be better than ever.
Channing even shared a PDA-filled picture of the two with the caption: “Gonna watch this unicorn sang tonight. Then we gonna get it in! Horns out!”
Well, okay, Channing!
It looks like both Tatum and Dewan are in happy and healthy relationships. And that’s something we love to see! Congrats you two, for being true adults.
