Kelly Ripa has sparked comments regarding her super-slim frame – some trolling, others seeming to genuinely think that the 49-year-old TV host is too skinny. Kelly was recently unveiled as the celebrity face of vitamin and supplements brand Persona Nutrition – February 5 marked the “Live! With Kelly and Ryan” host’s first Instagram promo for the company.
While the photo of Kelly holding a strip of supplements while standing in her marbled bathroom sparked an amusing “ultrasound” comment from husband Mark Consuelos, fresh coverage of the blonde’s promotion has generated other remarks.
Friday saw The Daily Mail publish exclusive photos of Kelly inside her luxurious NYC home as she talked about Persona Nutrition. The report likewise saw the former “All My Children” actress speak about how vitamins help her super-healthy lifestyle.
“I never realized all of the different ways vitamins and daily supplements could support my health goals,’ she stated.
“For example, as a working mom, rest can be hard to come by—and Persona has given me the gift of sleep,” the star added.
The report was accompanied by images of Kelly looking gorgeous and youthful while wearing a chic black mini dress that flaunted her pint-sized (but very muscular) frame.
Over 190 comments were left by users from across the globe following The Daily Mail’s report. While some threw Kelly the thumbs-up for looking so great at 49, others were less complimentary – Kelly was accused of achieving her enviable looks via chefs and trainers.
Comments also came in over the star’s weight. The following remark garnered over 200 likes.
“She looks 49 to me and she is clearly starving herself!!! She’s a PHONY!! supplements and vitamins and starving!”
Meanwhile, another said: “Shes so skinny she looks like a bobble head.”
Fans would likely agree that Kelly’s ripped frame is still a healthy one. The star has admitted to daily workouts, but the results seem to show healthy muscle over a body that is wasting away. For one user, Kelly’s tiny frame has links to her youthful appearance.
“If you keep your weight down, you can look “like yourself” long into old age,” they wrote.
Kelly recently made headlines for talking about her lifestyle. The reveal that her near-three-years abstinence from alcohol wasn’t planned also came accompanied by words pertaining to her diet and exercise.
“So much of my life has been devoted to having the perfect diet, having excellent nutrition, having a fitness routine I can get behind and practice every day, and I do, I exercise seven days a week,” Kelly told People.
“I rarely have a cheat day, diet-wise. I’m pretty stringent about taking care of myself a certain way. But [vitamins were] the one thing that seemed so overwhelming to me, and so mind-numbing,” she added.
Comments left to The Daily Mail did, however, see some fans back Kelly. “She is absolutely gorgeous. My, there are some haters out there!” a Brit wrote.
