'X-Files' Fans Rejoice as Mitch Pileggi Returns to Television!

The truth is out any X-Files fan knows. The truth here is that it might be a misnomer to say that Mitch Pileggi is returning to television. Honestly, he never really left.

Pileggi is one of those guys that we see in tons of stuff. Were it not for his longterm role on 'The X-Files', Pileggi might have ended up as one of those "that guy" character actors like Dan Hedaya. Unless, of course, you're a fan of The Shocker.

To Reboot or Not to Reboot?

Chuck Norris, the original star of Walker: Texas Ranger, is a legend. He's not just famous for his acting, his fight scenes, or his overall badassness. To many people, he's known as Walker: Texas Ranger and that's all.

The fear that Walker strikes in his TV enemies is the stuff of legends. According to memes, there's simply no one tougher.

So how does TV get the chutzpa to remake this show in the first place? The answer is simple--time has passed and a generation of people don't know the original show.

Plus, Chuck Norris is also known for whackadoo political views now too. Ugh.

But Who is the Lead?

If you're a fan of the show 'Supernatural,' then the name Jared Padalecki should already be familiar to you. He played the lead on that show for what seemed like forever. Now he's off to play Walker himself.

Padalecki is originally from Texas, which probably means he has the swagger to pull off this role. How will he come across standing next to a strapping specimen like Mitch Pileggi? Time will tell.

One thing is for sure, fangirls who love him from shows like 'Supernatural' and 'Gilmore Girls' are suddenly stoked for a cowboy cop show. Neat.

Pileggi and Padalecki are..Brothers? Partners?

When casting was announced, fans pounced into social media demanding to know how these two actors would be connected on the show. Would they be partners? Could one be chasing the other? Are they siblings? Sure, there's an age difference, but TV doesn't always care about that.

Deadline reports that Pileggi and Padalecki will play father and son respectively on this new reboot. That makes a lot of sense, as these two attractive fellas definitely look like they could be related to each other--and to Chuck Norris for that matter.

Pileggi's Ranger Cred

Mitch Pileggi is an exceptional choice to be on the new reboot of Walker: Texas Ranger. The CW is hit-or-miss with casting in this writer's opinion. But this casting move is a definite win!

While Pileggi was moved around a lot as a kid, he spent time in cowboy states like Texas and Oregon. When he started acting, he landed roles on manly shows like 'Knight Rider' and 'Three O'Clock High' before landing a recurring role on FOX's 'The X-Files,' where he appeared in 91 episodes throughout the series run.

Pileggi is the only thing that could make this writer watch the Walker reboot.
