A lot of the images of women in magazines and on social media are altered to make the them look skinnier and curvier. But with this self-love movement, some starts have pointed out how their pictures were altered.
One star who was very open about an image of hers being altered was Disney Star Zendaya. After a photo shoot with Modeliste Magazine, she saw that her images were altered to make her look thinner. She instantly called out the magazine and posted a picture of the original picture versus the altered picture, and had some very encouraging words about self-love and beauty standards.
Fellow Disney Star to Zendaya is actress Bella Thorne, who also took to Instagram about having GQ Mexico not alter pictures because she wants to empower more females to know that they are perfectly imperfect.

She calls out how standards of beauty shouldn’t be having perfectly white teeth, no wrinkles, no acne, and no fat. That’s not what beauty is. Her encouraging words, her authenticity, and her bravery to post an unaltered picture are just some of the reasons why we really admire Bella Thorne.

Ronda Rousey, the definition of a beauty and a beast, shared how she didn’t approve of an altered image of her on social media. A picture of Rousey was altered to make her arms and shoulders look smaller. She stated on social media that pictures of her being altered are completely “against everything she believes in and how she’s proud of every inch of her body.” I mean, she did make the cover of the 2016 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. So, yes, be proud of every inch of that bod!
Riverdale stars Lili Reinhart and Camila Mendes took to Instagram about how they were disgusted and felt disrespected to find their Cosmopolitan cover shoots altered to make them both look skinnier.
They both took to social media stating a combined public statement that “we want readers to know that those bodies are not ours; they have been distorted from their natural beauty. We prefer to see our bodies the way they actually are.” And, we must say, Lili and Camila rock for preaching such a powerful message.
The most recent star to come out about one of her pictures being altered is Kelly Clarkson. She stated that her boobs had been altered to be bigger. She hilariously clapped back on Twitter stating “I feel like this is what I would look like with a boob job.”
And she’s had nothing but positive responses for calling out The Voice for altering her picture. We all love Kelly’s authenticity and her down to earth vibe. She one of the many women who are speaking out against beauty standards and advocating for self-love.
