Music icon Elton John is giving the world a chance to experience the pop-rock vibe with his new eyewear line.
The legendary singer-songwriter is bringing his signature glasses to the masses at an affordable price.
As reported by PEOPLE, the five-time Grammy award-winner collaborated with Sam’s Club and Walmart to bring the icon’s trendsetting accessories to life. The brand was also named after a special moment in John’s life.
Sir Elton John’s Eyewear Is Reflection Of His Past
For years, the “Cold Heart” crooner has made headlines for his colossal achievements and flamboyant outfits, including his distinctive rhinestone-designed eyewear.
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Famer’s latest venture was a “labor of love” and a testimony of his incredible career as well as his iconic fashion moments. The Disney Legends award winner stated:
“My eyewear has always been a bit symbolic for me, it’s been a true reflection of how I feel and what I want to portray creatively in that moment.”
The “Rocketman” star explained that the unique collection was similar to a time capsule as each pair contained an essential story about the composer’s life.
The eyewear line’s various frames, including prescription, non-prescription, sun, and reader glasses, were specially named by the singer and his longtime sweetheart David Furnish.
Some of the iconic labels included “Rocketman,” A-List,” and “Prodigy,” which are references to the 74-year-old’s hit song and his debut as a piano genius.
Aside from giving fans a classy new addition to their wardrobes, the Commander of the Order of the British Empire is also giving back to the world as part of the profits from his eyewear line go to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
In response to the “Hakuna Matata” crooner’s generosity, Walmart Inc. will reportedly donate at least $1 million annually from their share of the Elton John Eyewear collection to assist his foundation.
Connecting And Making Music With The New Generation
The Hollywood Walk of Fame star received his 40th win on the Adult Contemporary Top 10 chart for the sensational song “Cold Heart” featuring Dua Lipa.
The legendary pianist appeared to be making moves to achieve more hit tracks this year as there has been news of a potential collaboration with Ed Sheeran.
The ginger-haired singer revealed that John has been trying to recruit him to do a holiday track for a few years, but the “Shape Of You” crooner was initially reluctant about the collaboration.
However, the 30-year-old seemed to have experienced a change of heart as he confessed on NME, a Dutch radio station, that it was high time he seized the opportunity.
The Blast also reported that Sheeran’s relationship with the 74-year-old has significantly improved to the point where the pair can gush about their friendship.
The young singer praised the icon for his wholehearted support during his COVID-19 crisis. The father-of-one admitted that he didn’t have many friends who genuinely cared for his well-being as the older artist did.
Since the pair have become friends, one can only imagine the amazing sound the renowned composers will bring to life with their special Christmas song.
