Baby Yoda fans rejoice: even more merchandise featuring everyone's favorite cuddly green creature will soon hit stores. Perhaps the most impressive, though, is an animatronic version of the character by Hasbro, which will release later this year. This doll will have over 25 sound and motion combinations and if the video of the toy is any indication, it's about as close to the real thing as any Star Wars fan can get.

Seriously, this is probably the most adorable toy ever made. Who needs the Force when you've got the power of cute?

The Baby Yoda craze

The Baby Yoda craze started with the first episode of the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. Although the lead of the series is Pedro Pascal, who wears a mask almost the entire time, the true star of the show is revealed at the end of the first episode. This was the character officially dubbed as "The Child," but who fans refer to as "Baby Yoda," because it's of the same species as Yoda. As no one really has a name for the child or Yoda's species, the "Baby Yoda" moniker stuck.

Baby Yoda merchandise was hard to find

Eventually, the "Baby Yoda" character began to show that it was even more like Yoda than fans initially thought. This baby is also strong in the Force and won't hesitate to levitate gigantic beasts or force choke an enemy. It's also older than most babies, but it seems that 50 years old is pretty young in Yoda years.

Because of the nature of the character and its shocking reveal, Disney did not release any merchandise prior to the first episode of The Mandalorian. That means that merchandise was hard to find and is just now hitting store shelves.

Baby Yoda set precedent for The Rise of Skywalker

Baby Yoda's Force powers, though, also set a precedent for an important plot point in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Baby Yoda, aka "The Child," demonstrated a brand new Force power on The Mandalorian in an episode that debuted just before the premiere of The Rise of Skywalker. That power involved healing, something not previously seen in the Star Wars universe. However, both Rey and Kylo Ren used this power in The Rise of Skywalker, suggesting that this healing power was something Jedi could do all along.

For those Star Wars fans who just can't get enough of Baby Yoda, though, the animatronic doll will be available in the fall for just $60. Considering everything this doll can do and the attention to detail put into it, that's a pretty fair price. For example, petting the doll on the head will cause it to move as if it's using the Force. However, just like the real Baby Yoda, the doll will slip into a nap after using its powers. How awesome is that?
