It has only been about a month since Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna passed away in the helicopter crash that took the lives of everyone on board. With these “wounds” still, fresh people with a pretty bad taste have taken to making fake posts about the sudden death of other members of the Bryant family.
The fact that these types of posts exist was the main reason why on the day of the actual tragedy people were skeptical of the news of Kobe’s death in the first place.
The fake post featured a picture of Bryant’s oldest daughter and what appeared to be a video published by BBC News. That allegedly talked about how Natalia had committed suicide due to bullying. By this time the post has been taken down, but can still be seen through archive sites.
This is not the first time since the tragedy that a member of the Bryant family has gone through this type of fake news post. A couple of weeks back a false report of Vanessa Bryant committing suicide also surfaced.
Whenever these types of stories come out it is always odd to think that there are people that actually do these types of things. Especially with a story that has been hurtful to a lot of people. For the most part, these posts are made by people that have very poor judgment at the very least.
The fact is though, creating a clickbait post that garners a lot of attention can be profitable via ads. So, for the most part, people are doing these types of things for attention and money.
It is certainly an understatement to say that this past month has been rough for the Bryant family. It has literally been a life-altering time for Vanessa, Natalia, Bianka, and Capri. Even if Capri and Bianka are too young to comprehend what really happened.
That being said, Vanessa has been relatively active on social media with her grief. She mentioned that she decided to be more vocal about her grief as a way to maybe help others that could be going through, or will go through a similar situation.
Although both Kobe and Gianna have already been laid to rest in a private ceremony the public memorial service is going to take place at the Staples Center on Monday the 24th. At this point, it is probably going to be very tough to be able to get a ticket to the event.
There has been no official announcement on whether or not the event is going to be televised. Either ESPN or TNT will probably make a special coverage of the event.
