Since she came onto the music scene in 2005 with her debut album “Music of the Sun,” Rihanna has the King Midas touch. Her success has expanded into the realm of beauty with the launch of her cosmetic and fashion line Fenty. The singer celebrated a birthday on Thursday as well as the launch of a new fashion line earlier this month.

Following the release of her Savage X Fenty lingerie collection in 2018, Rihanna launched the first line from her Fenty fashion house in May 2019 to international acclaim. The collection, called Fenty 2-20, debuted at noted high-end department store Bergdorf Goodman in Manhattan on Feb. 7.

"This is a monumental store in fashion, especially in New York City. This is one the first places I ever came to in America. One of the first places that I could buy clothes when I got a check. And so to see my brand just sit here and be a part of this establishment is really wonderful... To see it in real life, it blows my mind. I mean, it really is special,” she recently told Entertainment Tonight.

According to Forbes magazine, the singer has accumulated a $600 million fortune, edging out other famous women in music including Madonna with $570 million, Céline Dion with $450 million and Beyoncé with $400 million.

Forbes also reports that the Fenty Beauty brand earned an estimated $570 million in 2018 in after only 15 months of business.

According to her Wikipedia page, Robyn Rihanna Fenty was born on in Saint Michael, Barbados, the daughter of accountant Monica (née Braithwaite) and warehouse supervisor Ronald Fenty.

She is of Afro-Barbadian, Afro-Guyanese and Irish descent. Rihanna was an army cadet in a sub-military program, where the later Barbadian singer-songwriter Shontelle was her drill sergeant. Although she initially wanted to graduate from high school, she chose to pursue a musical career instead.

In 2003, Rihanna formed a musical trio with two of her classmates. She was discovered in her home country of Barbados by American record producer Evan Rogers. Without a name or any material, the girl group, inspired by Destiny's Child, managed to land an audition with Rogers who commented, "The minute Rihanna walked into the room, it was like the other two girls didn't exist."

Rihanna went to Rogers's hotel room, where she performed renditions of Destiny's Child's "Emotion" and Mariah Carey's "Hero".

Impressed, Rogers scheduled a second meeting with Rihanna's mother present and then invited Rihanna to his hometown in the United States to record some demo tapes that could be sent to record labels.

Rihanna currently owns a $14 million penthouse in Manhattan and has also purchased a house in West London for £7 million, in order to be closer to her work with her FENTY fashion label. In December 2018, Rihanna put her Hollywood Hills mansion up for sale after a break-in six months before. The mansion was reported to have been selling for $10.4m.
