If you are a long time fan of the Resident Evil franchise, then chances are you played the remake of Resident Evil 2 last year. This game was more than just a remake, it was a retelling of the survival-horror classic. It was received incredibly well by critics and fans alike, so it is no surprise that Resident Evil 3 is getting the same treatment.

In Resident Evil 3 you play as Jill Valentine as you race through the streets of Raccoon City all while being pursued by the evil monster Nemesis. Available April 3rd.

If you have been playing on Xbox anytime in the last decade, then you know about Gears of War. The title is traditionally a 3rd person shooter game where you fight off monsters that come from underground. The game became such a success that the studio behind development, The Coalition, is releasing a real time strategy game within the Gears universe.

Gears Tactics takes places before the events of the 1st Gears of War, so you get to see the war with the Locust unfold like never before in a tactical strategy game on April 28th.

DOOM released a soft reboot of the franchise in 2016 to much critical success. This year on March 20th DOOM Eternal makes its long awaited release. The DOOM franchise is one of the founding fathers of the FPS genre, and have been releasing games since the 90's.

The game follows a unique storyline where you play as a space marine tasked with slaying demons on Mars that came through a portal from Hell. You take the fight to them in Hell, but what is different about Eternal is that you get to bring the fight to Heaven as well.

Probably the most anticipated game on this list is The Last of Us Part II. This is the sequel to the best selling game The Last of Us from Sony and Naughty Dog studios. The first game centered on a middle-aged man escorting a teenage girl across the United States in order to help save the world from an apocalyptic crisis.

This time around you play as a more mature and older version of the girl from the first game. Details about the story are slim, but we are all excited regardless. Releases May 29th.
