Crime shows are a television staple. There are so many shows that delve deep inside the world of crimes and the people that solve them. Viewers at home can’t get enough of it. “Criminal Minds” is a drama show about FBI agents and the difficulties they face both on and off the job.
“Criminal Minds” has been on the air since 2005. They are on the 15th and final season. The series finale is on tonight, Feb. 19, on CBS at 9 p.m. ET.
The crime drama show is about a group of FBI agents in the Behavioral Analysis Unit and how they use analysis and profiling to investigate crimes.
“Criminal Minds” was produced by Jeff Davis. It has won many awards with the most recent being in 2017 when it was named “Favorite TV Crime Drama” at the “People’s Choice Awards.”
The finale will mirror what the actors are going through off screen and how they are figuring out life after the show ends. Will there be new unexpected paths for them to take?
Showrunner Erica Messer spoke to TV Line about how the finale relates to their reality.
She said, “Everyone is definitely reflective because that’s what we’ve all been doing behind the scenes. It’s so unusual to work at one place for 15 years — it makes you wonder what you’ve missed. ‘What else is out there?’ and how your skill set can help, even if you don’t report to the same office every day.”
The name of the series finale is “And In the End,” which Messer discussed in the TV Line interview.
She said, “It will all be clear in the final 10 minutes of the series. “And in the end… the love you take is equal to the love you make…” Those were the final lyrics ever recorded by the Beatles, a group the characters always loved.”
You’ll also notice that Shemar Moore will not make an appearance in the finale as he is busy shooting another CBS show, “S.W.A.T.”
After years of getting to know the ins and outs of these characters, it would be difficult to imagine them in a place outside of the Behavioral Analysis Unit. There is just a two-hour finale left until we all have to say goodbye to our favorite team of FBI analyzers. You’ve been with them through the literal blood, sweat and tears.
Witness the end of something special. Watch the series finale of “Criminal Minds” tonight, at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
