Kenya Moore cranked up the shade on RHOA costar NeNe Leakes when she suggested that Ms. Leakes was being “phased out” of the show.
This is part of a longstanding feud between the two ladies—and one with no apparent end in sight.
But could it spell the end of one of the original cast member’s tenures on the show?
Well, NeNe Leakes was quick in her effort to squash the rumors. She took to social media and tweeted the big boss himself on a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live.
Here’s a Q for Ken @andy….ask her y is she out doin press sayin BRAVO is fazing me out? BRAVO hasn’t told me or my team that! Why is she out sayin i have lost money from NOT being n episodes. I negotiated my episodes & money Upfront? I have NOT lost anything #shady #hater

Despite some beef of his own with Leakes—which was generated by a hilarious “repeat outfit” scandal—Cohen set the record straight in defense of Leakes’ standing on the show.
Cohen shot NeNe’s question at Moore, to which she replied:
“I guess she would need to ask Bravo why they’re cutting her out of many episodes this season. I’m not the one behind the editing and figuring out the show.”
“I don’t think she’s being cut out of episodes because I think everything that was shot with NeNe is in the show. We’re not cutting anything out,” Cohen explained.
Moore seemed to at least concede that the alleged “phasing out” was not something that she could “absolutely say”.
Odds are, this is yet another clap-back in a long back-and-forth over a sort-of alpha supremacy status that is often discussed among cast members and fans of the Housewives franchises.
Leakes has gone on record saying: “I think that [Kenya] would love for me to be gone, so she could be, in her mind, the head of the show, or the queen of the show… With me there, it’s very difficult for her to have that kind of thing.”
Leakes would go on to say that outside of their ongoing rivalry, there is another reason she worries about letting her perceived crown be passed down to Moore in her absence.
“If I leave the show and Kenya stays on the show, she will be the demise of the show.”
Ouch.
Being the demise of this program would be no small feat, considering its melodramatic history that recounted so many of the cast’s less-than-finer moments.
There have been multiple physical altercations, including a near-brawl with Leakes and Moore.
This all seems to be boiling over in what appears to culminate in a moment teased at in the Season 12 premiere trailer: which appears to show Leakes spitting at Moore.
Given the reaction, Leakes spoke out regarding the incident.
“I don’t even know what was going through my mind in that moment,” Leakes said.
“I’m just gonna be honest about that, because I just think some of the things Kenya says is really nasty and really dirty. And I just feel like… you probably need to be spit on. You just probably need to be.”
The RHOA Season 12 finale should reveal if she, by Leakes’ standards, got what she deserved.
And despite her apparent spit-take, Cohen says NeNe is getting what she deserves too: plenty of screen time.
