Drew Barrymore has lost a shedload of weight. The "Santa Clarita Diet" actress appears to have taken a leaf out of the TV show she starred in – at least via the "diet" part.

Drew has dropped 20 pounds, and she took to Instagram on Wednesday to share her slimmed-down frame, plus her thoughts on the weight loss process. Her first post showed her laughing and smiling with personal trainer Marnie Alton, with accompanying workout snaps also showing the 44-year-old actress' transformation.

Drew's photos also included a solo snap of herself stretching out on a dark mat amid her children's toys – the star was posing with one leg stretched out behind her as she supported herself on one knee, with her outfit definitely doing wonders for her whittled-down silhouette.

Drew wore a black pair of tight yoga pants, pairing them with a simple gray t-shirt. Her caption mostly came dedicated to her trainer – and it was long – but it likewise saw the star admit to losing 20 pounds.

Drew then followed her tribute post up with a side-by-side shot of herself. Over on the left, Drew was seen pregnant, not looking her best, and significantly heavier. Over on the right, the star was looking Hollywood-ready and slim in a red dress and high heels as she posed seated.

A caption here saw Drew admit that her weight fluctuates.

"I go up and I go down. The rollercoaster of my body is a challenging, but beautiful ride," she began, adding:

"I made two kids. The single most important purpose for me being on this planet is for them! It is a true miracle I was able to have these two girls. So whatever the aftermath on my body, well bring it on! That said, there have been times i have stood in my closet and just cried. Hated getting dressed. Didn’t feel good! "

Drew has referred to her body with the Pillsbury Doughboy reference before, doing so back in the summer of 2019.

"It takes so much for me to look decent. I have to eat just right and Work my *ss off! I cannot fight the fact that I have the propensity to be the Pillsbury dough boy! (Now all I can think about is crescent rolls) So DON’T Be fooled by what you see when people are thin right after baby," she continued.

Drew concluded by stating: "Don’t compare yourself to the magazines and the red carpets. If I looked decent on anything I have done since I had my two kids, I have clawed my way there. You can too!"

Her update proved staggeringly popular, racking up over 475,000 likes in three hours. Comments came in as fast as likes, with many praising the star for having been so open.

"So much love and respect for you Drew! ❤️," one wrote.

"You look incredible. Comparison is the thief of joy!! Balance is key. ????," another added.

Drew welcomed her second daughter Frankie in April 2014. She joins other celebrities making headlines for their weight loss – Ariel Winter being one, Rebel Wilson another.
