Zayn Malik has always maintained a low profile from his time with the boy band "One Direction."
However, after he parted ways with the band, this profile became even quieter, but recent incidents have made the artist issue a public statement.
Some allegations made by his partner's mother, Yolanda Hadid, claimed that she and Malik were involved in a disagreement at some point last week where he threw some harsh words at her and even got physical.
Zayn Malik's Twitter Post
On Thursday, TMZ reported that Malik and the former star of RHOBH were engaged in an altercation, which according to Yolanda, became physical. Several news outlets carried this news, and it soon became so big that Malik couldn't ignore it and ended up breaking his self-imposed social media silence with a statement.
Malik posted a screenshot of a note on Twitter saying, "As you all know, I am a private person, and I very much want to create a safe and private space for my daughter to grow up in. A place where private family matters aren't thrown on the world stage for all to poke and pick apart."

The note also read, "In an effort to protect that space for [my daughter], I agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner's who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago."
"This was and still should be a private matter, but it seems for now there is divisiveness, and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a manner in which she deserves, this has been 'leaked' to the press."
The singer ended by saying that he hoped for healing for everyone affected and that he'll continue to stay vigilant to protect his daughter and "give her the privacy she deserves."
Zayn Malik And Gigi Hadid Are Separated
Words like "co-parent" stand out in the address Malik released not because it had anything to do with the fight but because it's a term couples no longer together use when raising a child. Some fans suspected that the couple had split up, and this was later confirmed.
The couple has been together for six years and has split two other times before. According to ET, the pair is separated but working together to co-parent their daughter, their number one priority.
This split happened after the altercation between Yolanda and Malik. A source claimed that Yolanda kept showing up uninvited and unannounced, which eventually led to some tension between the couple that Malik tried to resolve.
Gigi released a statement through her rep to ET concerning the issue between her husband and mother, saying, "Gigi is solely focused on the best for Khai. She asks for privacy during this time."
Zayn Malik Says He Didn't Strike Yolanda Hadid
After his statement on Twitter, Malik sent another statement to TMZ, where he adamantly denied ever getting physical with Yolanda.
Malik told the tabloid, "I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid, and for the sake of my daughter, I decline to give any further details, and I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards healing these family issues in private."
However, on Friday, TMZ reported that he was slammed with four criminal offenses charges of harassment by Yolanda Hadid.
Zayn Malik Pleads Guilty To Harassment Charges
In more recent news, Malik has pleaded guilty to charges of harassing and pushing Gigi Hadid's mother during a heated argument in their home. According to the court documents obtained by Daily Star, the 28-year-old had "intent to harass, annoy, or alarm another, namely Yolanda Hadid."
The document further went on to say that he called Yolanda "a f***ing Dutch sl*t" and ordered that she stay away from "my f***ing daughter." Although Malik denied any physical contact, it reported that he "shoved [Yolanda] into a dresser," which caused "mental anguish and physical pain."
He also allegedly yelled expletives at a security guard on the property, saying, "Get the f*** out of my f***ing house, copper." and attempted to fight him.
According to a police report, he will face a total of 360 days probation and has been ordered to complete an anger management course and possibly a domestic violence program. He is also not supposed to contact Yolanda and the security guard present during the fight. The report also stated that the judge could terminate the probation within six months if all conditions were satisfactory.
