Chef Gordon Ramsay is back to save the day. Along with the crew of 24 Hours to Hell and Back, Ramsay traveled to Oak Park, California. This time he is answering the call for help from The Park Restaurant and Bar. In this new episode, he is also bringing company: NFL player Rob Gronkowski.
In this episode, viewers can expect to see owner Kirin Stone and Gordon battle it out. Will the changes help elevate business? Will Gronk be able to help?
Like many stories Gordon covers on the show, this one also has a tragic element. Gordon arrives at the restaurant to meet with a family who has lost its home in the Woolsey Fire that burned many California homes. While coping with the loss, the owners still have to run a restaurant. Gordon is tasked with trying to turn the restaurant (and the family dynamics) around in just 24 hours. Will a new renovation and new menu be enough to give the restaurant what it needs?
The Park Restaurant and Bar opened in 2017, so it is still a relatively new place. The restaurant has offered California fare, including pizzas, salads, an oyster bar, and sandwiches. It also throws in a few random choices, like poutine and steaks. Their menu has been available online for visitors to peruse.
When the establishment opened, it was decorated with bicycle parts, which helped give it the name. Is Gordon going to change the name? Will he revamp their style and give them a new menu to work with?
The reviews on the restaurant’s Yelp page vary. Some people seem to love the food, while others have given some negative reviews, clearly prompting the visit from the Gordon.
In a one-star review, a patron claimed the restaurant was “understaffed” and “chaotic.” The patron complained about the fried chicken, which they claimed was dry. The reviewer also claimed that the drinks they ordered were all wrong. Locals certainly hope that Gordon will step in and create a more flavorful menu and emphasize the need for a less chaotic kitchen.
Oak Park locals are excited to see that the restaurant could be making changes for the better. After all, Oak Park is not a huge town. Those who live in the area would love to have a restaurant and bar within walking distance that offers delicious dining and fabulous drinks.
This episode of 24 Hours to Hell and Back will air February 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Gordon and Gronk create an intriguing team, so be sure to tune in.
