Wendy Williams is a well known host and has her own TV show, The Wendy Williams Show, where she talks about hot trending topics in celebrity news and other various topics like fashion and beauty. The Wendy Williams Show gets over 1 million views per day and has been on the air for more than 10 seasons, so she definitely gets a lot attention for her show. However, she has been slammed by thousands of people on several different occasions for certain things she's said.

Joke About Amie Harwick's Death

Nobody should joke about someone's death. Anybody would take offense to that, and that's exactly what happened. On her live show, in front of a live audience on national TV, Wendy made a joke about Amie Harwick's death. Amie Harwick was murdered by being pushed off the 3rd-floor balcony, and Wendy Williams, while she was discussing how Amie Harwick died, said laughingly "come on down." There was absolute silence from the crowd. Nobody thought it was funny and social media has exploded in disbelief that she had the audacity to say that.

Gay Men Can't Do That

Wendy Williams criticized the members of the gay community. Specifically targeting gay men and their fashion choices on her live show Feb 13th. She stated on live TV, "And stop wearing our skirts and our heels,” Williams continued. “Gay men, you’ll never be the woman that we are. No matter how gay, sir,” she added, addressing an audience member. Taking shots at a member of the audience and then taking shots at the gay community was a low blow. She has given out an apology but we're really tired of apologies from Wendy.

Making Fun Of Birth Defects

In January, Wendy talked about Joaquin Phoenix's award winning performance as the Joker, but then started to mock him for having a scar above his lip from have cleft surgery. Clefts are the result of a birth defect in which the upper lip is lifted so far up to the nose that there is a large gap between a person's lips.

Wendy mocked people with clefts through a demonstration on a live TV as she held her top lip up to her nose. She faced a lot of backlash for making fun of Joaquin Phoenix and the thousands of people that struggle with this birth defect. She did issue an apology for this as well.

Stereotypical Harsh Comments

A lot of us wonder how it would be like to be royalty. Meghan Markle has been known to be open about the daunting task of being married to a prince of another country while going through pregnancy and dealing with mental health. Wendy mocked Meghan saying "nobody knew who you were before" and "nobody feels sympathy for you." She even referenced a possible solution to "get away from it all" by buying a hut in Africa. And these are just a few examples of the crazy episodes Wendy Williams has had on national TV. In fact, a lot of people want her show canceled.
