Kate Chastain is finally calling it quits on the yatching lifestyle. Kate has been on the reality TV Show 'Below Deck' since season 2. Kate is the chief stew who is not afraid to lay down the law and speak her mind, even if it bothers her other crewmates. This last season was particularly rough for Kate. The boys' club of Valor was particularly critical of Kate and consistently antagonized and picked fights with her. Are they the reason she left the show?

Kate wrote a lengthy Instagram post after announcing during the 'Below Deck' reunion that she would not be returning next season. "After many months of reflection and internal discussions, I have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new land-based role. I intend to step back as a senior member of the Below Deck Family and work to become financially independent while continuing to fully support His Majesty Andy Cohen,” she wrote in the caption cleverly nodding to Megxit.

Kate revealed that the real reason why she is leaving is because she's ready to start a new phase of her life.

"Personally, this has been a very challenging season for me. I'm going to go spend a week alone in a resort and relax. Then, head back to Florida, pack up my life, and move to New York," Kate shared on the show. "I'm scared to move to New York, but I was also scared to start yachting, and I think I'm ready for a new adventure."

However, Kate did almost quit because of her crew mates last season. On one of the episodes, she leaves the ship claiming that she's quitting only to return the next day..

"I quit that night because I just needed to get off the boat and away from the situation," she told BravoTV.com's The Daily Dish. "But of course I came back because I would never leave my crew or Captain Lee without a chief stew for the rest of the season."

It was important to Kate to finish out the season. She wanted to follow the philosophy of her longtime boss Captain Lee.

"If you don't intend to finish the task at hand, you shouldn't embark on the endeavor to begin with," Captain Lee shared. "I always finish what I start. I can't think of a time when I haven't. I don't see a reason to change that philosophy now."

Kate managed to stay strong for the rest of the season, but unfortunately, it was her last time 'Below Deck.'
