Jenelle Evans is a TV persona that cannot be quickly forgotten. Many know her from her previous gig on ‘Teen Mom 2,’ where cameras followed her around in everyday life, catching all the drama that seemed to unfold everywhere she went. Jenelle’s mother Barbara became a popular personality in herself, and fans of the show got to know the minutiae of their chaotic life, day in and day out. Whether Jenelle was smokin’ the reefer with Kiefer, breaking parole for a Ke$ha concert, or shouting ‘He’s my child, not yours!’ at her mother, audiences bore witness to it all.
But her presence on MTV is no longer, as of late. Fans will remember when her husband, David Eason, shot her dog, Nugget, and received wild backlash because of it. He was fired from the network then and there. A representative from MTV said, “MTV ended its relationship with David Eason over a year ago in February 2018 and has not filmed any new episodes of Teen Mom 2 with him since. Additionally, we have stopped filming with Jenelle Eason as of April 6, 2019 and have no plans to cover her story in the upcoming season.”
Now, after being out of the camera’s eye for some time, Jenelle has left her husband and moved to a different state. But oddly enough, it has been rumored that she and David are tempted to star in yet another reality TV show. Not through MTV, though. This rumor was denied, though, given the fact that Jenelle is unable to be featured on another channel (or show) until her contract with MTV is through – and that won’t be until April of this year.
Jenelle claims she’s perfectly fine with her life not being broadcasted on ‘Teen Mom 2.’ That has been awesome for me,” she said. “Because it’s like I’m having fun with it, versus when I was on Teen Mom it was just kind of like, ‘Get the camera out of my face, I’m mad right now.’ Now it’s, ‘Hey, I’m happy, let’s go do something fun. Let’s film something fun.’ And whenever you try to suggest that to MTV, it gets tossed out.”
She also went on to say this: “They have you film with people that you don’t necessarily want to film with — you’ve got the baby daddies, the grandparents, the exes, just constantly, something’s always going on,” she explained. “When you involve kids and marriages, divorces, trying to co-parent… I mean you’ve got drama there no matter what. I’m trying to steer away from that right now.” Jenelle isn’t the first and won’t be the last MTV star to speak from this perspective, but that’s certainly the nature of reality TV. Creating drama wherever it can be found.
I just want to tell everyone, I am sooooo happy with life right now. Everything is perfect 🥰 My support system is so big now, it’s crazy.

Apparently, MTV has been in talks with Jenelle about where she stands, and whether or not she’d like to return to the network. That doesn’t look too promising, though, given Jenelle’s joy with being let go. “I’m officially out of contract with MTV in April,” she told E! News. “That was the only thing I was waiting on to move forward. Once April comes around, I can start talking to other networks, thank God!” Judging by the relief in her statements, it doesn’t look like Jenelle will be working for MTV again anytime soon.
