The Internet is split on which of the two between J. Lo and Shakira looked hotter at the Super Bowl halftime show. While Shakira sparkled in a gold outfit, JLo oomph-ed in shiny silver. Both looked absolutely stunning even if they got a bit of an Internet backlash from parents who thought their performance had skimmed over to the adult category from the child-friendly one. Of course, while this may have been a bit risque for Shakira, J. Lo has been known to wear bold at red carpets.
In the movie Hustlers, J. Lo plays a stripper. So when she arrived at the premiere of the movie at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival, she was aptly dressed in a deep yellow Maison Yeya gown that had plenty of skin show and ruffles. J. Lo looked stunning in the bright ensemble but the most eye-catching bit about it was the Judith Leiber clutch made to look like a stack of bills. A fitting accessory for JLo’s stripper character in Hustlers.
For the 2015 Billboard Music Awards, “Jenny From The Block” wore a Charbel Zoe Couture gown that showed more than it actually covered. And yet, compared to her earlier looks, this was one of her more sedate gowns. The sheer net dress was covered with swirling, blingy patterns that showed off her beautiful body whilst keeping the essentials on the DL. Clearly, this is one diva who knows what’s best for her in the fashion department even if she sometimes errs in the romance game.
The same year, 2015, JLo smashed it at the Met Gala in a deep, wine red outfit that showed off her curves in the best possible light. The theme of the Met Gala for 2015 was “China: Through The Looking Glass”. We totally got J. Lo‘s sheer-paneled Versace gown choice considering it did give us a looking glass when it came to skin show. As far as the China bit was concerned, all those sequins and feathers actually formed a dragon, wrapped around JLo’s curves.
Finally, the year may have been 2000, but this was the Grammy’s dress Jennifer Lopez seemed to have challenged even the gravitational force in. Not a slip out of sight, the sheer and mind-numbingly low Versace gown in green stayed in its proper place. And it created a fashion furor, with many applauding J. Lo’s audacious choice and others denigrating it. Whatever be the case, the 2000 Grammys is where J. Lo made history with a dress that could not help but lovingly hug her curves.
