Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to leave the Royal Family instantly made headlines all over the world when it was announced in 2019, and was met with split opinions. Some say they were selfishly ignoring their privileged royal duties as Duke and Duchess, while others expressed support for the couple who say they were mistreated by the press. But the couple has revealed another reason that played a pivotal role in helping them to make the decision to leave: To take better care of their son Archie.

Since the royal couple's departure from Buckingham Palace, they have discovered newfound comfort in Canada. Their initial leave left people wondering what they would do now that they were no longer royalty and thus no longer receiving income from the Palace. After first announcing their royal exit, the couple expressed hopes that they could continue working for Queen Elizabeth. However, once that became apparent that it would not work for various reasons, the couple decided to move to North America, stepping into unknown territory and taking a leap of faith as to what would come next. It seemed that even they were unsure of what that would be.

During the couple's six-week royal hiatus, the pair went to Canada. It was here that the royal couple would end up eventually moving to after leaving the Royal Family. Here, Harry and Meghan seem to be living relatively quiet lives where it isn't unusual to spot the couple out and about with their dogs and son Archie. Reportedly, the two have spent more time outside while on Vancouver Island than they ever did while in the United Kingdom. This new lifestyle has led to positive developments in the lives of not only the two as a couple, but for their family as a whole.

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's son, Archie, was born, they decided not to give their child a royal title. A close source told People magazine that "They are trying to live their life as regular parents.” In an attempt to do so, the couple decided to leave their royal titles behind and join their son's journey to leading a normal life, or at least as close to normal as they could spare. It seems that giving Archie a normal life was the main objective behind moving across the world and escaping the lifestyle and negative press that haunted the former Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Being no stranger to the negative effects of growing up in the spotlight, Harry is a firsthand advocate of avoiding doing so. After the loss of his mother, Princess Diana, the young prince had to go through dealing with every stage of growing up while cameras were constantly on him. Leading a very tumultuous life, it looks like Harry is determined that his son does not have to lead that same lifestyle, as it was detrimental to the young man when he was going through his adolescence. With the family's decision to move, royal or not, we can only hope that their family will support them like any other normal family would.
