Justin Bieber has had a busy 2020, thanks to the release of his new album Changes, a new docu-series about his life entitled Seasons, and his new marriage to Hailey Baldwin. Bieber has been so busy that he has apparently not had time to shave...until now.

Bieber's controversial mustache, which made it's TV debut earlier this month on Saturday Night Live, has finally been eliminated, in a move which is sure to be a hit for some and a tragedy for others.

Bieber recently shared a clean-shaven Instagram post with the caption, "I shaved. MUSTASHIO went on holiday, but he will be back in due time." Hailey Bieber appeared to approve, by sharing a congratulatory, "yeeeeee", and many others shared her sentiment. Several Instagram comments exalted the decision, with some proclaiming, "ya praise God" and "Thank You Jesus". Others appeared sad and despondent over the decision and mourned the temporary death of the 'stache. One user commented, "we will miss him dearly."

Bieber's mustache had a short but highly publicized residency on the pop-star's face. When Bieber debuted the mustache on SNL fans and commentators were shocked. The predominant opinion seemed to be disapproval, with many taking to Twitter to mock the new look. One tweet read, "Justin Bieber and his mustache look like he's been passing out free candy from a white van." Wendy Williams labeled the mustache a "struggle 'stache" and claimed it made Bieber look like a porn star.

Bieber defended the 'stache with good spirits. He labeled his new mustache "mustashio" and made several posts defending its integrity, such as a late January post which read "MY STASH MY LIFE DEAL WITH IT". Celebrity supporters began to show, such as Chance The Rapper who urged Bieber to go even further with the new look, commenting, "let the handlebars grow in."

Sadly, it appears that this support was not enough to save Mustashio, who is officially no longer with Bieber.

Although the mustache may be gone, Bieber did tease its return, so fans can likely look forward to a new and reinvigorated Mustashio at some point in the future. Perhaps Bieber might also follow Chance's advice and grow out some more aggressive facial hair? It would be a fairly revolutionary move for Bieber to experiment with a bygone style like muttonchops or a walrus 'stache.

For those looking to relive the glory days of the mustache, Bieber can be seen still sporting it in the docu-series Seasons on YouTube.
