Back at it again? That didn’t take long. “Teen Mom 2” alum Jenelle Evans recently made headlines for deciding to get back together with her dog-killing ex-husband David Eason. Now, she is making headlines again by announcing her departure from social media. Evans announced this weekend that social media is going to take the back burner in her life for a while. She has supposedly been mulling over the idea “for a while” now, however, she was unsure about when and how she wanted to execute this huge decision.
Evans shared the following message with her followers this weekend. “Deleting every social media for a while. Updates will be posted to YouTube and my blog every week,” said Evans. In case you are not in the know, Evans has had a YouTube Channel for some time now. She posts pretty regularly, and even more recently. The mom of three went on to encourage her followers to swipe up for access to her YouTube channel and blog. She also promoted a new blog post. Since then she has been silent on all accounts. Chances are she is serious about this break.
During an exclusive interview with Pop Culture, Evans opened up about her uncertainty with her role on “Teen Mom 2”. “I’ve kind of been in limbo for a year since last April, and I’ve been wanting to venture out and do my own things, and people are like, ‘Why aren’t you?’ I’m stuck to this contract, and once I’m out of it, I can go and talk to other companies and stuff.” She was also candid about her relationship with MTV.
“I’m not gonna lie, MTV, they’re iffy about if they really wanna let me go or not. So I’m just sitting here, doing my own thing trying to keep YouTube updated, because my fans, they want to know — they’re digging into my life, and they want to know what’s up!” If you remember, last spring Evans husband shot her dog out back of her house real ridiculous-like because it had nipped at their daughter Ensley. Since then, Evans has had a rollercoaster of a time in the spotlight. She even left her husband after finally realizing that what he did was wrong.
Unfortunately, Evans and Eason are back together. On one hand it nice that they are trying to make things work for their kids but on the other hand, did they even have the chance to work on their separate problems before running back to that co-dependant situation? Maybe this taste of freedom from MTV will give her the confidence she needs to just focus on parenting and her future. Not Eason, his legal troubles and all the negative things that came from being on a show about being a teen parent. Evans seems to have a kick in her step these days and we have to assume it is because she doesn’t have to act a certain way for the MTV cameras anymore.
