"Gilmore Girls" was the early 2000s CW show that followed a teenager with great potential and a single mother who's doing her best as they connect with whimsical Connecticut characters. The show's peaceful and natural background with warm colors gives the show a small-town feel.

What really made the show a hit was the cast members, main and supporting. After the original run and the Netflix reunion episodes, the actors and actresses of the series moved on to other great opportunities.

Alexis Bledel

Alexis Bledel played Rory, the studious daughter with great taste in movies and music, a bit of a shy outcast in most circles. Since the show's end, Bledel has been in numerous films and television series of the same acclaim and caliber.

Playing a similar character to Rory, Bledel played Lena in "Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants" a repressed and shy gal on vacation. For television, she landed roles in "Mad Men" and "The Handmaid's Tale", showing off her dramatic chops.

Lauren Graham

Lauren Graham played Lorelei, the mom who had Rory as a teen, ran from home and raised her independently. Eccentric and quick-witted, Graham plays this fast-talking powerhouse with great skill. After the show's end in 2007, Graham went on to other great opportunities.

For films, she worked alongside Steve Carell in "Evan Almighty", the sequel to "Bruce Almighty". Moreover, she starred in indie favorites like "It's Kind of A Funny Story". She also starred in another hit television series, "Parenthood".

Scott Patterson

Scott Patterson played Luke Danes, the curmudgeon coffee shop owner that was secretly in love with Lorelai. He has a good relationship with Lorelai and is Rory's surrogate father figure while growing up. Patterson's portrayal of a grouchy guy with a heart of gold will stay in the fans' memories.

After the series end, Patterson went on to do plenty of small roles in films like "Saw V" and "VI". He'd also be on shows like "CSI: Miami" and "90210".

Melissa McCarthy

Melissa McCarthy played Sookie St. James, Lorelai's best friend, co-worker, and chef at the same Inn they service. McCarthy portrays Sookie as a bubbly, sweet, and caring friend who's obsessed with making perfect, gourmet food for visitors.

McCarthy was the most successful of the cast members, now a full-fledged film star after "Bridesmaids". Moreover, she was on the primetime hit, "Mike & Molly" earning major bucks from all her ventures. More recently, she got an Academy Award nomination for "Can You Ever Forgive Me?"
