This year's BachelorPeter Weber has opened up about his relationships on the show, including his "unique" relationship with Kelsey Weier.

Speaking to Nick Viall on The Viall Files, Weber says that he knew who the "front-runners" were from early on.

"I truly tried my best to give everyone a chance and I can honestly say that. But also just being honest, I also did have my top front-runners that maybe interchanged a couple of times, you know in the top four, five, six, but that’s human. That’s the truth," he said.

He also revealed his attraction to one of the show's controversial contestants, Kelsey Weier.

"With Kelsey, it was such a unique development of our relationship. We hit on the emotional part right off the bat on that first date almost. We had fun but it wasn’t like the normal progression of a relationship where you guys flirt and it’s all cute and it’s a light-hearted, good time," he stated.

"We kind of took off right from the bat and connected emotionally and very deep and in a weird way, I love that. That’s a huge reason of why I connect with her so quickly and so early on."

Weier had one of the most memorable (and embarrassing) moments of the season when a bottle of champagne exploded in her face.

She had brought the bottle from home to share with Weber, but the scene turned ugly when another contestant mistakenly popped open the bottle during some one-on-one time.

Although Weier managed to secure a second bottle, things backfired - literally - when she decided to skip the glass and take a swig straight from the bottle.

Unfortunately, it didn't have quite the intended effect as the champagne exploded all over her face, and the "Champagne-gate" clip quickly went viral.

It's not the only dramatic moment from this season.

Contestant Victoria Fuller was left stunned when a musical guest on her solo date turned out to be her ex-boyfriend, country singer Chase Rice.

And while Fuller was left feeling "sick to her stomach" during the date, Rice was livid at the actions of the producers.

“They set everybody up. I didn’t sign up for that,” he [told The Morning Toast reporters at the 2019 CMAs. “That’s my problem with it. At the end of the day, they have a job to do. I don’t have to be a part of that.”

This week will see Weber visit Weier's family for the hometown visits.

In a preview clip obtained by People, Weber reveals that he is nervous to meet them.

"I am extremely excited, a little bit of nerves just because I know how much her family means to Kelsey. I hope that they, at the end of tonight, can feel good about us," he says.

In the clip, Weier is also shown admitting to her father that she is in love with Weber.

“I know he has strong feelings,” she says of Weber, “I just don’t know what that means.”
