Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made the decision to relinquish their roles as senior members of the royal family and move to North America, the couple has been trying to explore opportunities to become financially independent from the crown.
While there certainly have been endeavors presented to them, at least according to some agencies, one opportunity, in particular, might be a gamechanger for the former royal couple as they continue to build on the next stage in their lives.
Just this past week, reports began to surface claiming that Prince Harry had been in discussions with the multinational investment bank, Goldman Sachs, a notion that has since sent shockwaves around the world with the idea that their decision was possibly premeditated much before they actually decided to make an announcement.
Well, now Page Six is reporting that there are indeed talks occurring between the two parties for a role that would provide a partnership between the banking giant and some of Prince Harry’s patronages and causes.
The Duke of Sussex’s role would also include being a speaker for the Goldman Sach’s ‘Talks at GS’ series. And while the nature of those talks is currently unknown at the time of this writing, previous high-profile people who have gone on to speak at previous installments of the series include the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Karlie Kloss, and Hillary Clinton, to name a few.
This opportunity could provide itself as highly lucrative, given that the couple just recently received one million dollars for speaking at a JP Morgan event in Miami several days ago.
Going on a speaking circuit could be the key to the couple initially getting off the ground, although there will certainly be other opportunities for them, moving forward.
Royal commentator and author, Kristen Meinzer, recently spoke to Business Insider and shared how their current level of fame is very attractive at the moment and likened them to another powerful couple: the Obamas.
“We could easily compare them to any former presidents,” Meinzer shared. “My mind keeps going to Barack and Michelle Obama and how [they] make money. The reason I compare the two is that they’re already friends with each other and I would put them on the same level in terms of fame.”
On Markle’s end, she too is pursuing her own opportunities, specifically back in the career that she established before marrying Prince Harry. Prior to becoming the Duchess of Sussex, Markle was building a very successful career in acting, starring in the popular show, Suits.
In order to get her foot back in the door, she’s been reaching out to friends in an attempt to find new agents and managers. As it stands now, she’s already completed a voiceover role with Disney, which is not expected to be her last opportunity with the production giant.
As for Prince Harry working with Goldman Sachs, we’ll have to unfortunately wait and see what really is officially agreed upon between the two parties regarding his role.
