It appears there are still differences to be settled between Alice Evans and her estranged husband Ioan Gruffudd. Evans called out her ex for cheating on her for at least a year and bids good luck to his new girlfriend.
The former couple was introduced on the set of the 2000 movie “102 Dalmatians” and tied the knot in 2007. In March, Gruffudd filed for a dissolution of marriage. The pair share two daughters, 12-year-old Ella and 8-year-old Elsie.
Alice Evans Publicly Calls Out Her Ex For Cheating
It all started when Gruffudd announced his relationship with Bianca Wallace on Instagram. He uploaded a photo of them looking cozy and smiling on set.
In the captions, the “Fantastic Four” star thanked his girlfriend for making him smile again. Wallace reposted the photo to her Instagram page tagging her new beau.
The 28-year-old captioned the post, “I know real smiles when I see them,” perhaps as a subtle shade that Gruffudd was happier in their relationship.
PEOPLE reported that Evans reacted to their updates in a since-deleted Tweet, writing that for two years Gruffudd said she was a bad person who he no longer wants to have sex with.
The 50-year-old also wrote that Gruffudd told her he wants to be on set abroad, but “Has been in a relationship for THREE years behind all our backs. Good luck, Bianca.”
Wallace’s friend spoke on her behalf saying, “I have personally known Bianca for years and they have NOT even known each other for three years let alone have an affair!!”
“The Vampire Diaries” star clapped back that the friend knew the affair began “before he told me he didn’t love me and wanted a divorce.”
Ioan Gruffudd Quits Marriage For Better Times
Gruffudd filed for divorce in March after a 13-year union with Evans. The Blast reported that the filing came four weeks after Evans tweeted about the dissolution in a now-deleted post.
The mother-of-two wrote, “My beloved husband/soulmate of 20 years, Ioan Gruffudd, has announced he is to leave his family, starting next week” leaving her and their daughters sad and confused.
As for why the “Forever” actor wanted to quit his union, Evans said the only reason she was given is that he no longer loves her.
The “Harrow” star did not respond to her posts but a joint statement from the exes revealed that the divorce is a difficult period for their family.
In the statement, the couple mentioned their commitment to their kids and thanked the public for respecting their privacy.
Behind The Couple’s Struggles
Evans and Gruffudd’s divorce is not as sudden as it appears. In January, The Blast reported that the actor told the Guardian he and Evans struggled in the past four years with, “making time for each other because physically we’re apart.”
He also mentioned that Evans was in charge of most of the children’s caretaking. As for her post on how Gruffudd no longer loves her, Evans revealed that her ex-husband deleted it from her account himself.
While some fans criticized Evans for being so public, others worried about Gruffudd’s invasion of her privacy. She defended her posts saying after being “gaslit and mentally tortured then h*ll yes I will wash my linen in public.”
