Earlier this month, Amber Rose debuted a shocking new face tattoo that certainly got a lot of people talking. The new ink, which reads "Bash Slash" across Amber's forehead, has drawn some harsh criticisms, but Amber is standing by her decision. Of course, the tattoo is a dedication to Amber's two sons, Sebastian "Bash" Taylor Thomaz and Slash Electric Alexander Edwards. However, Amber is getting even more candid about what the tattoo means to her and the unlikely person who inspired it -- Kobe Bryant.

Amber appeared on One on One with Keyshia Cole recently, and she did not hold back about addressing her obvious new tattoo. However, fans were surprised to learn that Kobe Bryant's untimely passing was actually a source of inspiration for Amber: "I don't want this to sound corny or anything but kinda after Kobe died, it made me reflect on my life," Amber admitted to Keyshia during the show. "I don't want people to be like, 'Oh Kobe died and you went and got a tattoo,' but it was kinda like that."

Amber also revealed that Kobe wasn't the only inspiration for the tattoo. She opened up about how her father's cancer battle also inspired her: "He went through remission and he's good now but he almost died," Amber explained. "I've been wanting this tattoo for a long time and I was like, 'You know what, life is so short just do it. Just live your best life.'" Clearly, Amber has been affected by Kobe Bryant's death and her father's near-death -- prompting her to get the controversial ink that she has apparently wanted for some time!

Despite the fact that Amber's new tattoo is a tribute to her children, it's gotten a great deal of backlash. People have told Amber that she's "too pretty" to "ruin" her face with a tattoo, but she has wasted no time clapping back at her haters: "For the people that are telling me I'm too pretty for a face tat are the same people that would tell me that I'm "too pretty" even if They though I was ugly and lie to me," Amber posted on Instagram.

Amber concluded her message by telling haters that "either way the moral of the story is do whatever the f--- you want in life." Amber obviously has no regrets about the tattoo, and now we have a little more insight into the inspiration behind it. She also offered one last sentiment for her critics: "Beauty is not what’s on the outside.... it’s what’s on the inside that counts. Inside of my P---- and inside of my heart." Well, there you have it!
