“Getting tatted by him was an experience I’ve never had before.. no idea what I was going to get done, I told him about my life and where I was at in that moment and we created a combination on images that best symbolized the spiritual awakening I was having,” the singer continued.

“Having a fallen angel being lifted by 3, pure, angelic doves (the Holy trinity) as her inner light is being guided by a higher consciousness, and the disintegration of her dark wings was representing the darkness I was shedding."

“Thank you for this special experience.. the only bummer is I can’t physically see this amazing artwork because it’s on my back!” she concluded. “ps. I still can’t believe how life like this looks and it healed amazing as well."

The tattoo is on Lovato's upper back, and indeed features an angel being lifted by three doves. Lovato's performance of "Anyone" at the Grammys was her first live performance since 2018, and she was so emotional that she had to start the song over.

Lovato followed up that heartbreaking performance with a rendition of the National Anthem at the Super Bowl that was also met with widespread acclaim.

The singer suffered from an overdose in July of 2018, and has been open about her experience in recovery in the 18 months since. Now, Lovato is getting representations of recovery etched on her skin. The singer has been welcomed back to the music world with open arms, and she's also signed on to do some projects outside the recording world.

Lovato is one of many celebrities signed on to a Quibi series. The plan is for the singer to host a talk show on the soon-to-launch platform, which is provisionally titled "Pillow Talk with Demi Lovato." On the show, Lovato plans to have candid, personal conversations with both experts and celebrity guests.

The show is supposed to cover topics like body positivity, activism, sex, gender identity, and relationships. Lovato feels like the perfect host for a show that explores those topics.
