‘Friends’ alum and star of Apple TV+ series ‘The Morning Show,’ Jennifer Aniston has certainly been making a lot of headlines these days. Although there have been a splattering of romantic comedy movies in which the blonde beauty starred in, and despite two divorces, Aniston seems more busy than ever and glowing with contentment. Oh, and there’s all those run-ins with exes, in particularly the newly minted Oscar winner ex-husband Brad Pitt.
Recently, this daughter of ‘Days of Our Lives’ soap star John Aniston sat down for interview with BFF Sandra Bullock to give some insight on her upbringing and other aspects of her life.
Aniston’s dad John Aniston had been a household name for decades thanks to his villainous role as Victor Kiriakis on the long-running soap ‘Days of Our Lives.’ John married Jennifer’s mother Nancy Dow in 1965. They divorced in 1980 when Jennifer was 9. When Bullock asked Jennifer Aniston how she’s able to maintain a positive attitude throughout discouraging times, the former ‘Friends’ star reflected back to her childhood.
The actress stated: “I think that it comes from growing up in a household that was destabilized and felt unsafe, watching adults being unkind to each other and witnessing certain things about human behavior that made me think, ‘I don’t want to do that.’ So, I guess I have my parents to thank.”
The chilly relationship between Jennifer Aniston and her mom is well noted. Jennifer Aniston recalls a time when she served as producer and star for the 2018 Netflix film Dumplin. In the film she played a former pageant queen whose daughter enters a beauty competition. Aniston’s character battled with accepting her daughter’s plus-size.
Aniston stated that she felt her mother, who had been a model and an actress, had specific requirements of Jennifer to which she did not measure up. Jennifer added, “I did not come out the model child she’d hoped for and it (characters in film) was something that really resonated with me, This little girl just wanting to be seen and wanting to be loved by a mom who was too occupied with things that didn’t quite matter.”
Nancy Dow, who passed away in 2016, had appeared on shows such as ‘The Wild, Wild West’ and ‘The Beverly Hillbillies.’ It has been reported that Brad Pitt did reach out to Aniston during the loss of her mother. And according Huffington Post, the mother and daughter had reconnected in 2005 after not having contact with each other for at least 10 years.
Jennifer Aniston said once that her mother had been very critical of her adding, “Because she was a model, she was gorgeous, stunning. I wasn’t. I never was. I honestly still don’t think of myself in that sort of light, which is fine.
The fresh-faced 51-year-old says she gets up around 4:30 in the morning, starts her day with 10 to 20 minutes of meditation, then its breakfast and a workout. Her breakfast of choice is usually a protein shake, consisting of frozen cherries, bananas, blueberries, green vegetable mix, maca powder and a little cacao. If not a shake, then she’ll have some toast, poached eggs and avocado.
For exercise, Aniston trains with a woman who conducts spin-yoga classes, then the Aveeno spokesperson and boxing fan hits the gym. And yes, Aniston says she uses Aveeno products, keeping the lotions “everywhere.”
