Before there were the Kardashians, cameras used to follow the Hilton sisters, Paris and Nicky like a shadow. There was nothing "simple" about the lives of the great-granddaughters of hotelier Conrad Hilton. Perhaps that's why the producers at Fox thought it would be a good idea to create a reality series starring the young heiresses. There was one problem. While Paris Hilton was onboard with the idea, her more limelight shy sister Nicky was not.
Allegedly, Paris asked friends Kimberly Stewart and Band-Aid heiress Casey Johnson to join her. Johnson declined and Paris "ended up" sealing the deal with Nicole Richie.
