Queen Elizabeth‘s health struggles sadly continue to keep her away from different public events that she’d been scheduled to attend. The latest event that Her Majesty is going to have to skip is the upcoming Climate conference due to take place in Scotland. All things global warming, and overall climate issues are a big passion for the royals. Particularly, the Prince of Wales, who will likely attend the conference in the representation of his mother. The conference though doesn’t seem to be the big story here. Sadly, although the Palace has not been overly forthcoming with the news the health of the 95-year-old Queen seems to be on the decline.
Recent Health Struggles
Having some health issues at 95 is probably something that people would come to expect! Who even gets to 95? The problem though is that she is the Queen and anything that happens to her can certainly turn the UK on its head. Over the last week the Queen cancelled yet another public appearance and trip. Later it was reported that Her Majesty had spent at least one night at the hospital for observation and testing. The latest news we had was that she was back at Windsor Castle, but she hasn’t been seen in public for about a week and change now.
The Queen’s Current Condition
As we mentioned little to nothing is known about The Queen’s actual health condition. In announcing that Her Majesty would not be attending the upcoming climate conference in Scotland the palace just said that Queen Elizabeth is resting per doctor’s orders. She had been seen on Zoom calls with foreign ambassadors in the last few days. There was nothing about those particular calls that would’ve been a cause for concern. The hope is that the only issue is that she’s too weak to travel right now. The Sunday Times did say that The Queen was reported, “knackered” (British for exhausted)
Still Sending A Message To The Conference Attendees
Although The Queen is not going to be able to be in Scotland for the conference, and potentially more than one royal is going to be representing the crown in her place she will videotape a message for the conference attendees. On the health front that seems to be at least a glimmer of hope. Although she is taking things a little easier these days she’s been on Zoom calls and putting in her regular work hours. The palace confirmed,
“Her Majesty is disappointed not to attend the reception but will deliver an address to the assembled delegates via a recorded video message.”
We Are Not Going To See Her Alone In Public Anymore
Ever since the death of her husband Prince Philip the solo appearances that the Queen had made in public had been few and far between. Now, it has been made official that Her Majesty will not be appearing alone in public moving forward. It’s been decided that Her Majesty will always appear with another member of the Royal Family. This potentially means more working hours in the near future for Prince William and Prince Charles. The decision may have been made to avoid the Queen becoming a fall risk. She recently appeared using a cane as she’s having some trouble walking at this point! Retirement or abdication still looks to be “dirty” words for the monarch.
