Over the years, ABC talk show "The View" has seen a barrage of hosts walk in and out the door. Some departed on a good note, while others left on the backdrop of controversy.

This year, ex-cohost Meghan McCain called it quits on the daytime show after four seasons with her co-stars Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar. Since then, she opined that her time on the platform was smeared by the negative valence around her conservative views.

Recently, she further strengthened her allegations while on tour, promoting her audio memoir "Bad Republican," a biography about her experience on the show.

In an interview on "Watch What Happens Live," she claimed her stance, got her bullied out, and tagged the talk show's environment as toxic.

McCain Discusses Her Conflict With Her Ex-Cohosts

When quizzed on "WWHL" about her feud with her former colleagues, the 36-year-old television personality bared it all in quite an emotional outburst.

"You know, I really -- I think the stuff with Whoopi has been really blown up. I have nothing but respect," McCain said to Andy Cohen, host of "WWHL."

"I adore Whoopi and I love her. I think things went off the rails, and I was trying to give context to my experience leaving. I just wanted to explain myself and the things that happened."

Then, Cohen flipped the interview on McCain by asking if she "takes any responsibility for the toxicity on The View?"

She replied: "Only one person was bullied out of their job and doesn't work there anymore, and I think that really says it all."

Cohen riposted: "You think you were bullied out of your job?" and McCain said, "Yeah," and bobbed her head as a sign of acceptance. In the end, she added that though she feels "The View" a toxic workplace, it was nevertheless a great platform.

McCain Had Postpartum Anxiety

In her upcoming memoir, the author revealed she threw up backstage on the show's set after a heated altercation with Behar.

"I had very severe postpartum anxiety, and that moment triggered a panic attack backstage," she said of that tough time. "I vomited in my office. It was horrible, I started crying between commercial breaks, and it was the moment that I just thought that my four years in an anthropological experiment in left-winged media had come to an end."

Despite her sad feelings about the numerous conflicts she got embroiled in, she admitted she was grateful for the opportunity.

"I really enjoyed my four years at The View in the sense that I found it a great challenge," she confessed.

"It's a huge platform, it's the number one show in daytime but you are targeted if you are the token conservative and you are treated differently."

Joy's Comment Deeply hurt McCain

Still, on the memoir, the mother-of-one divulged that Joy's retorts during their on-air feud cut deep into her heart.

"Nothing anyone has ever said to me on camera since I have been giving interviews since I was 22 years old ever hit this hard. I felt like I'd been slapped," she said. "She yelled out at me sharp and intensely and I believed her."

She then admitted that she had her imperfections but would never stoop low to bash a nursing mother.

"Now, I know I'm not always a perfect angel, but I would never speak to any woman that way who had just returned after giving birth. There are some things in life and some moments of time in life which are sacred. There are also times in life where you aren't as strong as you usually are," McCain said.

Fans' Reactions To McCain's Absence From 'The View'

After McCain's departure, ABC released on social media a photo-op of the new season hosts.

Some fans immediately entered a celebratory mood as the post confirmed that the former co-host was gone for good.

"What a refreshing photo without Megan. Sorry, nothing against The McCain's. Can't wait for the new season!" one Instagram user wrote.

Another viewer replied to the photo, "Ahhhh. So nice without MM. what a joy it will be without her. "Yay, Megan's finally gone. But we need Anna in there," said a third fan.

Currently, the television personality has landed a job as co-producer of a new Lifetime movie titled "Don't Sweat The Small Stuff: The Kristine Carlson Story," with actress Heather Locklear set to star as Kristine Carlson in the flick.
