Jamie Foxx, born Eric Marlon Bishop, is a 53-year-old actor, comedian, and singer. After starring in films like “Ray” and “Django Unchained,” Foxx is headed back to the big screen in 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” He last appeared as Electro in 2014’s “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.”

However, Foxx surprised fans recently when he revealed that he does not follow a strict diet or have a personal trainer. Instead, he shared what he does do to stay in shape, and provided some helpful advice for anyone who wants to start exercising without heading to the gym or lifting heavy weights.

‘You Need Food’

In a recent interview with Men’s Health, Foxx revealed that breakfast is his biggest meal of the day, where he usually chows down on egg whites, turkey sausage, a slice of toast, and gets it all down with a big glass of orange juice.

For lunch, he likes to focus on a big dose of protein and includes meals that feature salmon, rice, brussels sprouts, and even bacon. For dinner, he likes to end the day with steak and vegetables.

Foxx admitted that he is a major snacker, but he usually snacks on fruit, especially blackberries. However, he teased that less-healthy snacks, like salt and vinegar chips, also make their way into his diet.

He also allows room for cheat meals in his eating plan. In addition to crabs legs, he loves “Sophia Pizza,” which is a white-cheese pizza covered with sausage.

Although there are many strict diets, juice cleanses, and fasts out there, Foxx encourages his fans to make sure they are fueling their bodies the right way, especially when they’re exercising.

“I’m not laying any blame, but some of these Hollywood diets where you eat a basket of air and drink a cup of wind?” he asks. “Don’t do that s—t. You need food.”

Jamie Foxx Loves Old-School Calisthenics

Foxx has been in the industry long enough that he believes that he doesn’t need a personal trainer at this point. Instead, he says that he has had enough experience with fitness and eating right that he has already learned the tools to keep a fit physique for the rest of his life if he follows the rules of eating and exercising the right way.

Foxx works out first thing in the morning, right after he wakes up, so he can get his workout in without any distractions.

The first thing he does is 20 pull-ups every day. If he has time to do more exercises, he tries to get in 25 dips, 50 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, and 20 to 30 back extensions to work all of the muscles in his upper body, back, and core.

"I do that as soon as I get out of bed, and, that way, I get it out of the way so I don't have the anxiety, and I just get through it," Foxx explained. "If you do a little bit of that every day, pretty soon you'll start to build up your endurance."

If fans decide to follow his eating and workout routine, he encouraged them to do so in moderation. “When you look better, you feel better,” he added. “So when you eat right, you feel right, and that’s what I try to do.”

Foxx will reprise his role as Electro in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” on December 17, 2021, alongside Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Tom Hardy.
