In an interview with German newspaper FAZ, Bill Murray broke fascinating news to Marvel fans pertaining to his role in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Marvel Fans, Buckle Up
The 71-year-old multitalented individual was recently being interviewed for one of his previous movies when he was asked if it is of any importance to him that the director is his close acquaintance or a dear friend.
This came after Bill talked about his latest collaboration with Wes Anderson for ‘The French Dispatch.’
In choosing the right words to reply to this very specific question, Bill made sure to spill the beans and declare that he had something stirring for Marvel fans.
Straight From The Sir
The veteran actor expressed his admiration for the ‘Ant-Man’ director without even saying his name. “I made a Marvel movie recently. I’m probably not allowed to tell you, but whatever,” said Bill.
On further discussing the details, Bill said that it was rather unexpected that he decided to along with a project of a kind that is vastly different from what he usually does.
“Anyways, some people were pretty surprised why I decided on a project like this, of all things. But for me the situation was completely clear: I got to know the director and really liked him. He was witty, humble, everything you want from a director.”
‘I Really Like Him’
Further instilling confidence in himself and the audience, Bill made way for the most straightforward giveaway, “And with the cheerleader, movie Bring It On, he had already made a film years ago which I think is damn good.”
Murray is fascinated by Peyton Reed and respects his work to an unparalleled extent.
“I really like Reed. I think he’s a good guy.” Bill also said that throughout his career he’s found that “most good artists are also good people.”
However, don’t rush so soon. Although there is a sure-shot chance that you would get to see Bill in a Marvel movie in the year 2023, it is highly unlikely that there would ever be another.
“I’ve at least tried out what it’s like to shoot a Marvel movie, but I don’t think I need that experience a second time.”, the famous actor-comedian said.
This goes on to explain that while Bill is open to new experiences and roles, he wishes not to settle down and be too comfortable in whatever he likes to do.
What’s Coming Soon?
In “The French Dispatch” Murray stars as Arthur Howitzer Jr., the dour editor-in-chief of a beloved newsmagazine set up in the French town of Ennui-sur-Blase.
He has appeared in all but one of Anderson’s 11 movies, including the filmmaker’s next project which is currently a work in making
Another upcoming project of Murray’s is that he will have a cameo in the upcoming film “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” which will see him reunite with fellow Ghostbusters Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson. This piece of art will first hit the screen on November 19.
As far as the curiosity of the Marvel fans is concerned, the ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ is all set to release on July 28, 2023.
