Every year New Orleans hosts the Essence Music Festival and tens of thousands of people attend. A few months before each festival starts, Essence releases its amazing lineup. Each year the lineup gets better and better and this year is no exception. On July the 3rd-5th, artists will be performing on two stages. This year, the show will be hosted by Loni Love from The Real. Music will be by D-Nice who is a well-known DJ. He is most known for being the person who discovered Kid Rock.
I really want to go to the Essence Festival this year and I will go alone if I have to.

One of the two main headliners is Janet Jackson. Her performance came at a perfect time after she just announced that she is working on her 12th studio album. She is also planning to tour for that album this summer.
The second headliner is Bruno Mars. Even though he hasn’t released an album since 2016, his music is still playing on the radio. They will be performing on the main stage and I’m sure their performances won’t disappoint.
It FINALLY happened!!! @brunomars is doing Essence Festival!!! What an honor! So proud! Been hoping for this! On the main stage headlining OK one night and Queen Janet headlining another!… https://t.co/9bclFtdRfO

Coming off of a successful album, Ari Lennox has gained a following. Her debut Album Shea Butter Baby was such a success that it made it onto the Billboard 200 and the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums on Billboard. She also received Accolades for this soulful album. Vibe Magazine gave her the number 1 spot on their list of the best 30 albums of 2019.
Summer Walker’s debut studio album Over It, spread like wildfire when it was released in October of 2019. With songs featuring artists like Jhene Aiko and Usher, the album went certified Gold within a few weeks. Of course, the success of her album was because of her soothing voice and chill R&B vibes.
“Playing games” by Summer Walker still hits, no matter how many times I replay it 😔

Janelle Monae’s 3rd studio album titled Dirty Computer was exceptional. It combined pop, neo-soul, and funk into a versatile album. 2018 was a huge success for her because not only did her album receive critical acclaim, but she was also nominated for two Grammys.
Of course, plenty of fans would want to see come see Patti Labelle perform at the Essence Festival. She is an absolute legend and has hits for days. Labelle doesn’t even need a recent album to get the people to come to her performance. Her past work speaks for itself.
At the Super lounge, there are also a lot of artists who are performing. Goldlink, Jidenna, SiR, Tank and the Bangas and Rapsody will be hitting the stage this summer. This year at the 2020 Essence Festival, there will also be a lot of reggae and afro-beat performances. This year’s lineup did not disappoint and I’m sure a lot of fans agree. Every year the Essence Festival has good music mixed with good vibes. 2020 will be no different.
Essence Festival is gonna be EPIC this year.
