“If you think about it, Elton John is probably the closest thing to a father Marshall has every know.
He stood by Em when society tried to end him.
When drugs almost killed him, Elton was the person Em turned to for help.
20 yrs later, they’re still Great Friends” says one Twitter user.
Another fan demands to see more performances like this, writing, “so happy you surprised us king thank you and you look amazing also your random ass better be doing more things like that”

“So after 2020 gets off to a horrible start for the entire world tonight Eminem shows up for a totally spectacular surprise performance at oscars! For the length of his set, the world seems ok again. Unbelievable!” comments another.
Another commenter says, “It was amazing seeing you and Elton at the Oscars, because in 2001 I saw Eminem and Elton hugging on TV during the Grammy’s. in 2002 I went to the Anger Management Tour 2, then 3 in 2005, then saw Elton in 2010, now both of you reunited in 2020.”

One commenter expresses admiration, “Warms my heart that ya’ll are still close. I’m glad that Elton was there when you needed him during ur recovery & seen past all the crazy haters that took your music/art & tried to bring you down. Keep pushing baby, we’re all watching.”
But fans come together again over on Elton John’s social media, commenting congrats on his win.
“Happy award was given, but heartbroken the movie didn’t receive all the acknowledgement it should have! It was beautiful, brave, raw, magical. And Taron Egerton could teach young Hollywood a few things.” says one person.

And then there’s one-off comments, like this one. Bringing up things which don’t have anything to do with Em or Elton John, saying, “Is it just me, or does anyone else think that #BillieEilish is overrated? I mean, she is sweet, and pretty, and has cool hair and duds but vocals??? Hmm… I don’t know…”
