Despite leaving the Royal family, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry haven’t been short on opportunities. The former Royals were even asked to present at the Oscars. The couple surprisingly declined the invitation for another opportunity. This decision was likely as difficult as choosing whether to leave the Royal family or not. The couple had allegedly been discussing leaving for the past several months and ultimately decided it was the best option for their infant son Archie to spend time with both sides of the family.
A source had told Page Six that “they were honoured by the request, but declined the invitation [to the Oscars.]” Meghan and Harry must have had something very important previously scheduled.
“It was all very hush-hush, with a lot of security,” E! reported of the event they were attending. What could it have possibly been? According to Showbiz Cheat Sheet, they were attending an event for JP Morgan. They allegedly spoke out about mental health and briefly touched on their decision to step down.
The event was in Miami, and many fans are wondering how the couple made their way down to the sunshine state without anyone noticing. The couple paid close attention to security and made sure every move they made was discrete including their entrance into the event.
“They came in through a private entrance. They did their speech and left before dessert,” a source shared with E! News. “She introduced him and he spoke.”
While they were in Miami, they made sure to visit another A-List couple.
They allegedly linked up with J Lo and A Rod at the event in Miami.
“Harry and Meghan got on really well with Jennifer and Alex, and spent some time chatting with them over dinner,” a source told Page Six. “J.Lo was overheard inviting the couple and their baby Archie to her and Alex’s house in Miami to spend time with them and their kids.”
Ultimately, Meghan and Harry decided to bunk with her best friend Serena Williams during their time in Miami.
While Meghan may not be attending the Oscars, it doesn’t mean that she’s given up on her acting dreams.
“Meghan is actively looking for representation. She has begun outreach,” a source tells Us Weekly. “It can be a manager or an agent, but she’s reaching out to people to find someone to represent her for future professional projects. [Meghan] has no plans to do another show like Suits, but Harry’s been encouraging her to do more voice-over work, writing, producing and directing in her free time.”
