The world fell apart for a couple of weeks when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their plan to step down as senior members of the Royal Family and become financially independent.
Sources said several of the Royals were left reeling in the aftermath of the event, but one has apparently stepped forward to become the new backbone of the palace. Reports are naming Prince William’s wife, Kate Middleton, as the Queen’s rock following Harry and Meghan’s shocking exit from palace life.
Harry and Meghan have now moved to Canada, choosing to split their time between North American and the United Kingdom. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have given up their highest honors — the His and Her Royal Highness titles — and will be spending less time as working Royals.
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are expected to be back in the UK in March to celebrate Commonwealth Day with their infant son, Archie Harrison. They will be free to return to Canada after the event.
Reports have painted a cozy picture of Harry and Meghan’s new life. They are said to spend their time hiking with Archie and their dogs and doing yoga. Meghan reportedly loves to do cook for the family and Harry will sometimes pick up sandwiches from local shops.
However, sources say things back home have been very different. Prince Charles is said to be missing his daughter-in-law very much and is reportedly hurt by the move. Camilla Parker Bowles was said to have supported the decision.
Duchess Kate reportedly took on a lot of extra work after Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan left for Canada. Sources say she has been working a lot more and has been acting as a source of support for Prince William.
Unfortunately, some sources have also indicated these new circumstances took a toll on the Duchess of Cambridge. Reports said Kate was feeling very anxious and stressed and was not sure how to deal with being in the center of the spotlight.
Well, it looks like all this effort on Kate’s part is really paying off for the Royal Family, especially Queen Elizabeth II, who is said to be extremely grateful for Kate right now.
Sources say the Queen is “delighted” with Kate’s work and with her new role as a mediator within the family, so much so that Kate is basically “untouchable” at the moment. While reports still claim the Queen is very strong, they are describing Kate as the new “matriarch” of the palace.
