Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are busy rewriting royal history. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been settling into their new life in Canada, away from the stress and tradition of the Royal Palace in the United Kingdom.
But that does not mean they are completely done with all their royal duties. Harry and Meghan are expected to put in appearances for upcoming events. The Queen has reportedly asked that the Sussexes bring along their baby Archie Harrison, as well.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have traded in their grandest titles — His and Her Royal Highness — and their roles as senior members of the Royal Family for a quiet life in Canada.
Harry and Meghan have been spending their days eating sandwiches, doing yoga, and hiking with baby Archie and their dogs. Sources say they have felt a lot less stress now that they are living the simple life. The couple have said they wanted Archie to be able to grow up in a more normal environment.
While sources say Harry and Meghan are really enjoying taking life slowly, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not completely given up their charity work.
Duchess Meghan recently dropped in to speak with an organization that works with underprivileged girls and has signed on to provide voiceover work for Disney in exchange for charitable donations. Prince Harry gave a speech at a dinner for the Sentebale charity and he and at a private event for J.P. Morgan after being introduced to the crowd by Meghan.
According to a recent report, Queen Elizabeth II has asked the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to return to the United Kingdom next month. The couple is to bring baby Archie along with them to celebrate Commonwealth Day on March 9. They will be free to return to Canada after the event.
Harry and Meghan made their intentions clear when they announced their Royal exit. They always planned to split their time between Canada and the UK and to occasionally put in such Royal appearances.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have cited baby Archie to be the inspiration for all of their decisions. They wanted to move to Canada to give their baby a more normal and safe life away from the British press, which Harry sees as a danger. The couple has already warned photographers to stay clear of their new Canada home.
But they also always intended to allow Archie to see how the Royals live, hence their plan to spend part of the year in the UK.
