This is not a drill. And this is certainly not The Onion. By the time the Kansas City Chiefs had hoisted the Lombardi trophy after their come-from-behind victory against the San Francisco 49ers, many people had their opinions about how the game transpired.
The halftime performance by Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, though, has dominated all of the topics from the 2020 Super Bowl. Some people believe that the performance was a show of two aging artists attempting to remain relevant, while others thought it was an empowering outing for two women showing the world they still have it, on one of the biggest stages. Well, there seem to be some other opinions, and it may lead to a man taking the NFL and Pepsi to court.
Despite many people enjoying the performance that featured the duo dancing in Latin styles, there’s one man who did not like what he saw and was instantly compelled to turn his television off after briefly seeing the sexy dance routines.
The man in question is Dave Daubenmire, who is a Christian activist, and believes that the halftime performance by JLo and Shakira was not only compromising his moral values, but also jeopardizing his chance at eternal salvation, without his authority or permission. Daubenmire has a podcast that he went on to voice his frustration and litigation planning.
For Daubenmire, the ‘atrocity’ by the NFL, Pepsi, and the local cable network that provided the programming deserve to ‘pay up’ for the moral crime that they have committed. How much money is Daubenmire looking to get, you ask? Let’s try forty-five times what the United States Gross Domestic Product was for the 2019 year. Yes, that’s right, $867 trillion.
“I think we ought to go sit down in a courtroom and present this as evidence of how whoever [put on the halftime show] is keeping me from getting into the kingdom of Heaven…That’s discriminatory against the value I have in my house. You can’t just do that. I wanna sue them for about $867 trillion,” Daubenmire said during his podcast.
If the judge is smart he’ll order #DaveDaubenmire committed to a mental institution!

Daubenmire was specifically upset at the ‘crotch-grabbing’ and ‘soft pornographic’ dancing done by Lopez and Shakira. Speaking to the Daily Caller on the phone, the disgruntled Ohio minister said, “I turned on the TV to watch football, not to watch a pole dance. They penetrated the sanctity of my home.”
“I’m not here to tell the NFL what they can put on. I’m not here to tell anyone what they can watch,” Daubenmire continued, according to the outlet. “But they don’t have the right in the middle of a game to broadcast soft porn.”
Just watched this (in my opinion) idiot @ptsalt #DaveDaubenmire threaten to sue the #NFL IN COURT for blocking his way into HEAVEN..😂 Righteous indignation, ignorance, & legal impossibility aside, how does he prove damages? How about he dies now, then sues if he doesn’t get in? https://t.co/6rwGjBLvYX

And while it seems that Daubenmire is dead-serious on seeking damages for the NFL and Pepsi almost sending him to ‘hellfire’, people who saw his post on social media felt the need to stoke the flames a little bit by sending him pornographic material, as well as, even propositioning him for sexual favors.
“I’ve seen pictures of large penises and I appreciate it, but, no, I don’t want to receive any of them,” he said. “The offers that you guys have to come by and put it where the sun don’t shine in my bum.” Whatever that means. Regardless, we’ll see if his plans to take the NFL and Pepsi to court gain any tractions. My guess would be no, but who knows?
