Katie Thurston and Blake Moynes of "The Bachelorette" have ended things more than two months after their headline-making engagement.

Thurston was the first to share the shocking news via a statement on her Instagram. She shared a black-and-white of her and Moynes looking lovingly into each other's eyes on the show. In the accompanying caption, she announced:

It is with mutual love and respect that we have decided to go our separate ways.

The season 17 star of "The Bachelorette" wrote that she and Moynes were grateful for the moments they shared together, but they had come to a conclusion that "we are not compatible as life partners."

The reality star described their breakup as the "most caring choice" for both of them as they moved forward individually. She concluded her statement, asking for kindness and privacy and assuring fans that they always have the best intentions towards each other.

Moynes shared the same message on his Instagram page. Following the news of their breakup, several members of Bachelor Nation have reacted.

Stars like Andrew Spencer, Clare Crawley, Ali Fedotwosky, Blake Hortsmann, and Ivan Hall camped under Thurston's post and sent their love and warm wishes to the couple.

A Heartwarming Engagement

Thurston and Moynes took their relationship to a new level during the season finale of "The Bachelorette" when he got down on one knee and popped the big question.

The duo connected on the reality show after Moynes joined in episode four after Thurston experienced disappointment with the exit of two finalists contestants, Michael Allio and Greg Grippo.

She believed the challenges she faced before his arrival on the show helped strengthen her relationship with Moynes. But, unfortunately, it seemed the pair began experiencing troubles after their engagement.

According to US Weekly, the lovebirds were in a long-distance relationship with Thurston residing in San Diego while her fiance was based in Canada but frequently traveled because of his job.

While addressing the distance in an interview, "The Bachelor" alum admitted that she was "winging" her love life. However, she noted she was focused on herself, and Moynes was doing the same as they watched to see if they would work out.

During the brief engagement, Thurston was candid with her fans on social media about her struggle with the distance and even sought advice on how to navigate the difficult situation, but it seems nothing worked.
