Amber Heard and Johnny Depp have been in the midst of a heated legal battle for some time now. The former married couple, that divorced due to allegations of domestic abuse, have been struggling to keep things smooth since their split blew up in the media. While many fans did side with Heard in the beginning of the debacle, new audio footage has caused a shift in the public’s opinion on who is the abuser, and who is the abused.
JD: "I had a can of mineral spirit thrown at my nose!"
AH: "Go and tell the world that I, Johnny Depp, am a victim of domestic violence and see how many people believe you."

The original audio that leaked showed heard admitting to hitting Depp, however, a new recording has caused a second wave of uproar amongst fans. The phone conversation, which was recorded by Depp after Heard filed for divorce from the actor, was published by the Daily Mail.
The conversation starts with Depp urging Heard to settle their battle outside of court as to avoid more public scrutiny. Depp can be heard saying, “You are f—ing killing me…You’ve turned me into a … my boy goes to school and has kids go, ‘So your f—ing dad’s a wife beater?’ You don’t think about that, Amber.”
Heard replies with, “I’m sorry because the last time it got crazy between us I really did think I was gonna lose my life. And I thought you would do it on accident. ‘And I told you that. I said oh my God, I thought the first time.”
Depp then reacts by bringing up an incident that occurred between the couple just a month into their marriage, where heard allegedly threw a bottle of vodka at him. However, heard maintains that the actor did it to himself while he was “drunk and high on ecstasy”.
Depp responds with, “Amber, I lost a f—ing finger, man, c’mon…I had a f—ing mineral can, a jar, a can of mineral spirits thrown at my nose.”
This is where things get messy for Heard. The “Aquaman” actress mockingly responds by saying, “You can please tell people that it was a fair fight, and see what the jury and judge thinks. Tell the world, Johnny, tell them, Johnny Depp, I Johnny Depp, a man, I’m a victim too of domestic violence.”
Heard digs herself into a deeper hole as she continues by saying, “And I, you know, it’s a fair fight. And see how many people believe or side with you…Do you know I’m a 115, well not anymore, but I was a 115 lb almost 115 lb woman…You’re going to get up on the stand, Johnny, and say, ‘she started it’? Really? I have never been able to overpower you that’s the difference between me and you…and that’s a difference, that’s a whole world, and there’s a jury and there’s a judge will see that there’s a very big difference between me and you.”
The public’s reaction to Heard and her hypocrisy on the topic of abuse, have pushed fans so far as to call for her removal from the “Aquaman” franchise, as well as any future projects.
