With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to relinquish their responsibilities as senior members of the royal family and move to North America, much to do has been said about the increasing about of work that would now be required of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

There's no question that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex left a void when they made their controversial decision, and unfortunately, no one else is really stepping up to help out with those discarded roles, that is, except for Prince William and Kate. But has the 'Megxit' decision and the transfer of responsibilities created more stress between the royal couple, or brought them closer?

The answer isn't an easy one, and it would best be said that it's a little of both. When Prince Harry met with Prince William, Prince Charles, and Queen Elizabeth II prior to his exit, they discussed the strategy moving forward, although no exact duty transfers were announced.

In a statement from Queen Elizabeth herself, she shared her thoughts on Prince Harry and Meghan's decision. "Today my family had very constructive discussions on the future of my grandson and his family. My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s desire to create a new life as a young family," she began.

"Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working Members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family."

Since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's exit from the United Kingdom, Prince William and Kate Middleton have taken the professional route and maintained business as usual. The royal couple recently took a trip to Mumbles in South Wales where the two seemed to be in good spirits and smiling while they greeted fans and others alike.

According to the body language expert, Alison Ward, she was seeing a bond that is very close, likely something that has become even stronger since 'Megxit'.

"The pictures of the royal couple all say the same thing; Prince William and Kate are on the same page,” Ward told the Express. “The way they look directly into each other’s eyes and over their bodies towards each other when they are talking and walking indicates compatibility, friendship and common values."

'Stress of Recent Times Is Subtly Showing in Their Eyes, Especially Kate'

However, despite their bond seemingly being strong, Ward also noted that she sees signs of stress with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. "The stress of recent times is subtly showing in their eyes, especially Kate but they know where they are going and what they wish to achieve," she explained.

And according to Ward, the look of closeness between the couple can also be an indication of increased stress as they work to stay strong together. "As they walk they move their arms towards one another other indicating warmth and connection," she revealed.

A source close to the royal family spoke with Us Weekly recently and shared the current state of Prince William and Kate Middleton, saying that despite the drama and increased workload, the two have developed an even stronger bond.

"The Cambridges are busier than ever since Harry and Meghan left the U.K. You’d think their hectic schedule would put strain on the marriage, but it’s actually brought them closer together,” the source shared with Us Weekly. “Working as a team and supporting each other is essential at a time like this, and that’s exactly what they’re doing."

So, although the royal couple is experiencing stress from the recent events, it seems that they're taking on the challenges together.
