Wendy Williams has never been one to shy away from expressing her opinion. Most recently, Wendy came for Justin Bieber. On her talk show, The Wendy Williams Show, Wendy aired a clip from Justin Bieber’s new documentary. The doc shows some vulnerable footage about Justin who struggled growing up in fame and admits to losing his way. Many celebrities have reached out in support of Justin — especially his wife, Hailey Bieber. Wendy, however, was not impressed or sympathetic to Justin’s particular struggle with drug addiction.
After airing a clip from Justin’s documentary in which he details his old morning routine of “popping pills” and “smoking a blunt”, Wendy doesn’t hold back, according to CheatSheet. “I don’t care,” she tells her audience. “Why should I care? I saw who he was hanging out with.” Of course, Wendy isn’t a stranger to criticizing many celebrities and stirring up controversy. Just recently, Wendy made fun of Joaquin Phoenix — who had a cleft lip — which drew harsh criticism for her insensitivity.
As for Justin, the documentary is not the first time he’s opened up about his struggles. Back in September 2019, Justin posted a lengthy message on his Instagram, talking about his “heavy drug” use and how he became “resentful, disrespectful to women, and angry”. Fans and other celebrities alike praised Justin for opening up about his struggles and working towards bettering himself. Justin also credited his marriage to Hailey Bieber as being an important factor for getting back on track.
Wendy, of course, has been vocal about that fact that she doesn’t care about Justin’s struggle, nor does she have particularly favorable opinions about the young singer. Wendy recalls having Justin on the show when he was 13, and she says he “tore up her green room” and was “nasty to everyone around here.” She said that it was Scooter Braun, Justin’s manager, and Justin’s father who forced Justin to go back up and straighten up the room he destroyed. Obviously, however, Wendy hasn’t quite gotten over the incident.
As for Justin, he’s no stranger to criticism from the past few years. Many people have dragged Justin for the way he dresses and looks. Others, however, have expressed genuine concern for the singer, fearing that he was going down a slippery slope of drug abuse. His documentary, Seasons, has given fans a vulnerable glimpse into the troubled singer’s life. He’s also recently been vocal about his battle with Lyme disease and how it’s affected his health and physical appearance.
