Hollywood Stars Pay Tribute to the Acting Legend, Kirk Douglas

Following the death of the legendary actor Kirk Douglas, Hollywood stars have come out to pay their tribute to the fallen star. The celebrated actor died at the age of 103, according to a statement released by his son Michael Douglas, who is also an actor. He died on Wednesday at his Beverly Hills home, leaving behind his wife Anne Buydens and three sons.

Michael confirmed the ‘sad news’ as he put it, in an Instagram post, with his wife leading after him to pay tribute to her wonderful father-in-law.

Zeta-Jones seemingly shared deep chemistry with her dad in law. She got married to the two-time Oscar Winner in 2000 and has since been part of the Douglas family. Catherine shared a black and white photo which shows her peck Kirk, with a caption saying she will forever love Douglas, and confessed to missing him already.

For her, the touching tribute was not the first time she was posting the ‘Spartacus’ star on social media. She regularly posted him, including during his 103rd birthday about two months ago.

George Takei Pens His Tribute to Kirk Douglas

Takei took to Twitter to post about the death of an actor he termed a legend and went ahead to give a brief story of the star’s life. According to George, Douglas was a champion who had lived a long and storied life. People adored him and will miss him dearly. He also noted some of Kirk’s achievements including the Academy Award and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Rob Reiner described Douglas as a Hollywood icon, who gave his all towards breaking the blacklist. He sent his love to Michael and the entire bereaved family.

According to Mark Hamill’s description of Douglas, he was among the biggest stars of all seasons. His brilliant acting career is unforgettable, and the lad had a blazing charisma. He also noted how Douglas placed his career on the frontline, to break the blacklist.

His tweet came along with a photo of Kirk Douglas, seemingly during his earlier days. Danny DeVito described him as an inspirational Scalawag, adding that living 103 years was noteworthy. He ended his tribute by noting how great it was to hang out with Douglas.

Dan Rather Notes That Hollywood no Longer makes the Likes of Kirk

In his tribute, Dan Rather, thought that the Hollywood fraternity no longer makes legends like Kirk. He notes that the star was a Jewish who immigrated into the U.S., and his star shone during the golden age of the filming industry.

He sent his thoughts to the family, and prayed that the memories of the fallen legend be a source of blessings for them. Jason Alexander felt that Douglas was a friend who grew nicer each day. He felt honored to have known him.
