In the wake of the tragic January 26 helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Kobe and Gianna Bryant, wife Vanessa has reportedly put all of her focus towards ensuring the safety of her remaining three children.
Natalia, 17, Bianka, 3, and Kapri, 7 months, are the three Bryant children that were not involved in the tragic helicopter crash over Calabasas that claimed the lives of seven others aside from the Bryants. Them and their mother, who is 37 years old, have been attempting to process the tragedy ever since its occurrence.
As reported by People, Bryant is still “processing” her grief and “concerned” for her daughters following their father and sister’s passing.
“The shock hasn’t entirely worn off,” a source close to Bryant told ‘People,’ “She’s very tired; she hasn’t been sleeping. She’s worried about her girls, worried about what happens next.”
Given that it has barely been two weeks since Bryant’s devastating passing, it is understandable that the situation still hasn’t fully set in for his wife, who is processing the grief in her own way.
“She’s got people around her who are helping her: physically, emotionally, spiritually, mentally,” the source continued to say,
“She has spent the last week surrounded by people who love her and want only the best for her. She’s really being loved and cared for. And so are the girls.”
On top of this, the source for ‘People’ added that the wife of the late basketball star is genuinely appreciating all of the public memorials being left in her husband’s honor, “every memorial means something to her” and “every memorial is important.”
Kobe and Vanessa Bryant were initially wed in Dana Point, California back in 2001, after meeting on the set of a music video prior to that in 1999 when she was 17 years old and he was 21 years old.
The pair had four children together prior to his untimely passing on January 26 with the youngest child being born less than a year before his death. The crash that claimed Kobe and Gianna’s lives was ruled an accident by the Los Angeles Police Department.
The wife of the Olympian athlete had remained quite silent online in the days following her husband and daughter’s death, but shortly after took to Instagram to share a heartfelt thank you to everyone around the world sending condolences to her and her family.
“Thank you for sharing your joy, your grief and your support with us. We ask that you grant us the respect and privacy we will need to navigate this new reality. To honor our Team Mamba family, the Mamba Sports Foundation has set up the MambaOnThree Fund to help support the other families affected by this tragedy. To donate, please go to MambaOnThree.org. To further Kobe and Gianna’s legacy in youth sports, please visit MambaSportsFoundation.org.” Vanessa shared on her page.
