These are heartbreaking times for Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., professionally known as Snoop Dogg, as he mourns the passing of his beloved mother, Beverly Tate, also known as Beverly Broadus-Green.
Tate passed away at the age of 70, following months of hospitalization, and is survived by her husband Cordozar Calvin Broadus Sr. She is also survived by Snoop Dogg’s two brothers and his four children.
The late mother was a former church choir director and a head chef who became a church minister in 2005.

Farewell To An Angel
Snoop Dogg took to social media to break the news of his mother’s passing and express his gratitude for all she did for him.
On Sunday, the rapper uploaded a picture of his mother looking radiant in a red ensemble with a matching hat while holding a bouquet. Snoop Dogg captioned the Instagram post with,
“Thank u god for giving me an angel 🕊 for a mother 💖🙏🏽🌹💝 TWMA.”
An hour later, the media personality uploaded a clip of himself looking heartbroken and in low spirits while sad music played in the background. At a loss for words, he captioned the post with a single, heartbroken emoji.

Her Hospital Battle
The late matriarch was reportedly hospitalized in May for an undisclosed illness, according to PageSix.
The “California Gurls” crooner had taken to Instagram that May to write, “I need all my prayer warriors for momma right now please and thank you,” alongside an adorable photo of his mom.
In July, Snoop Dogg shared a photo of him and his brothers visiting Tate at the hospital. The star told fans she opened her eyes, letting them know she was still fighting.
Tate later gave up the fight after her courageous battle with her illness. However, the cause of her passing is yet to be known.
Headlining The SuperBowl
Earlier in October, The Blast reported that Snoop Dogg will be headlining the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show and was already making plans to that effect.
The media personality told Entertainment Tonight that he would love to perform his 1994 hit track, “Gin and Juice,” but was awaiting orders and instructions from the organizers.
The event is a collaboration between the NFL and Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. The historical show will be happening at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
On September 30, the star-studded lineup for the halftime event was announced via the official Roc Nation Instagram page. Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar will headline the show alongside Snoop Dogg.
The Super Bowl Halftime show will air on February 13, 2022. Roc Nation and Jesse Collins take on the roles of executive producers while Hamish Hamilton is the director.
