Demi Lovato has certainly made a splash in her return to the spotlight. After she voluntarily stepped away from public life following a near-fatal overdose in 2018. Her recent performances singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl and putting on a show at the Grammys show that at least on stage she is right back at the top of her game.
It is more the life off the stage that has a lot of people worried about Demi. Is she really serious about getting sober?
As far as her music goes as we mentioned Demi is right back on top. Both of her recent performances were raved by fans and critics. These two performances though are only the tip of the iceberg it seems. According to reports, Demi is busy in the studio also. A source told People,
““She’s been excited to get back to music and performing on stage. There couldn’t have been a better way to kick things off for 2020. She’s been busy in the studio working on new music, and an album is on the way by summer.”
After the Super Bowl there where multiple reports that indicated, Lovato had been spotted at a night club where the party went on until 6 in the morning. Her night club escapade had a lot of people worried. Especially since she has certainly had her struggles with staying sober in the past.
There are no pictures or anything that would indicate she was intoxicated or anything in the night club. Still, these reports have a lot of people questioning her commitment to staying sober.
According to Demi herself in her previous, a lot of the lyrics were a reference to her life at the time. In a sense they where a cry for help. She mentioned.
“I almost listen back and hear these lyrics as a cry for help. And you kind of listen back to it and you kind of think, ‘How did nobody listen to this song and think, ‘Let’s help this girl?’”
With that in mind it safe to say people will be listening more intently this time around.
Before she made her return to the stage Lovato, took a trip to Isreal where she was baptized in the Jordan river and she seemingly laid out the foundation for a new life. Sadly, some of the reports about her current escapades seem to reflect that she really has not been able to stay the course.
People close to Demi believe that she is really committed to staying sober. Throwing herself into her music could be a good way to get that done.
