The Royal Palace — and the world — were rocked to the core when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle expressed their desire to step down from their Royal duties and live a more normal, financially independent life.
People finally seem to be settling into their new roles. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are creating new lives for themselves in Canada, while the Cambridges have reportedly increased their working duties. Each camp is reportedly dealing with the fallout in their own different ways.
For her part, Duchess Meghan has reportedly received quite a lot of support from Royal Family members through this process. Sources say Meghan became good friends with Camilla Parker Bowles, who reportedly expressed support for the Sussexes planned exit.
Other sources say Camilla’s husband, Prince Charles, bonded deeply with his daughter-in-law, as he reportedly admired Meghan’s strength of will. He reportedly advocated for a church wedding for the Sussexes, which is unique due to Meghan’s divorce. Charles is said to be missing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex a lot right now.
Prince Harry has plenty of Royal Family members back in the UK who are missing his presence, too. Big brother Prince William has alluded to Harry’s decision to exit in recent speeches, reminiscing about the time they spent in Africa together and saying they would always be brothers in a recent documentary.
Duchess Kate is also said to be feeling the distance between her and Harry. Sources say she and the Duke of Sussex made fast friends when she entered the family and that she is definitely feeling his absence.
Sources have reported other factors surrounding the Royal exit that are seemingly weighing on Kate. According to recent reports, the Duchess of Cambridge has increased her workload greatly now that Meghan and Harry have stepped away.
Some say Kate is feeling a lot of pressure to perform and that she has been dealing with bouts of anxiety. She seems to have become a heavy focus on Royal social media feeds and the British press also seems to be shining a spotlight on how Kate performs in this interim.
Sources are now reporting how Duchess Kate is apparently dealing with all of this pressure — they say she is leaning on her mother for support. Carole Middleton is reportedly acting as a “stabilizing” presence for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and has even offered to babysit when needed.
According to this inside source, Carole’s support extends beyond Kate. Reports reveal a close relationship between Carole and Prince William, who is said to view her as a mother figure in his life.
