Fans of This Is Us will not get any kind of resolution any time soon because the series isn’t on this week. So for those looking to find out what’s going on with Kate and Toby’s currently turbulent relationship, you’re completely out of luck. Instead, the show will return on February 11, although the Season 4 Episode 13 promo video promises that fans will finally learn more about what’s going on with the pair. It also seems like we’ll find out more about something that happened during Kate’s teen years.
It’s not always easy missing out on a favorite show, and fans of This_Is_Us are probably not really happy about having to wait to find out what’s going to happen next. But there is a very good reason that the show will not air tonight, Tuesday, February 4. Tonight is the annual State of the Union address, which is set to begin at 9 p.m. EST. As is usual per network schedule, NBC delayed the next episode of This_Is_Us until the following week.
Season 4 of This Is Us has thrown a lot of curveballs at Randall. He’s desperately trying to keep it together while maintaining his relationships with his family, his mother (who was diagnosed with early-stage dementia) and his life as a politician. Season 4 also added another source of stress for the often panic-ridden character: Randall encountered a man breaking into his house. Although others have suggested that Randall seek help, he ignores their advice, but it’s obvious in the phone call that he finally makes to Kevin that he is not okay.
Another issue on This Is Us that is seemingly unresolved is that of Kevin and Sophie. This season saw Kevin finally admit that he wanted a simpler life: to settle down, get married and have children. However, that doesn’t seem to be in the cards for the actor. But Sophie called him up out of the blue after her mother passed away, and it seems that she’s back in his life. Sophie, though, is engaged to someone else, so we’re back at the “will they or won’t they?” stage of their relationship.
Perhaps the biggest unresolved issue of This Is Us, though, revolves around Kate and Toby. After everything the married couple has been through, it seems that baby Jack’s blindness is the thing that is pulling them apart. Toby admitted that he’s worried about his son not having a “normal” life, but at the same time, he’s texting some woman he met at the gym about his personal problems. Meanwhile, Kate is staying hopeful about their child. At the end of the most recent episode, though, it’s clear that Kate and Toby could be on their way to Splitsville.
